aphids. When I get aphids, I look for the ants that are farming them. Sometimes, the plant recovers on it’s own. I wait for ladybugs before taking action.

yes, just take the part under the sprout off and proceed as usual. I’m not sure if it’s even necessary to remove the part under the eye, but it’s what I would do.

Great harvest for a small area. I’m watching my own patch carefully. I don’t want to harvest too early and miss out on the growth that they do in the last couple of weeks. I also don’t want to wait too long as they can deteriorate too.

I would not chance a water bath. I have canned black beans and garbanzo beans that I cooked from dry beans, then canned them with a pressure canner. All of them sealed and lasted a long time.

I bought plugs from them too. Waiting till October to plant mine. I have grown sweet Charlie’s before but I’m trying a different variety this time.

It depends on your climate, how old the plant is, etc. You won’t know unless you experiment. What won’t work for me, may work for you because we have different situations. I live in central Florida and experience, aka past experiments, have taught me to pull them up at this point. Yet, I would personally keep trying by cutting a few stems and burying them as suggested and seeing what happens. I’ve also started new plants by putting the stems in water first and then planting them. They did ok, not great. But, it’s worth a try, right?

Hi guys, I did watch his video later. I concede that he may be correct technically, but why do my black eye peas and corn make such good companion plants. The corn def yields better and is healthier. Maybe the tests don’t tell the whole truth:)

Yes, she’s good. I’m not quite as cautious as she is but she is a wealth of knowledge.

I have a 40 year old ball canning book that I go by. I figure it’s before all the extra unnecessary things were added by the powers that be. I cook them unti they are done. If you watch youtube, one lady that I trust is Redrose. She has tons of preserving videos.
