Sweet Potato Harvest 10/8/2023
I followed Danny’s Sweet Potato Manual and got a better harvest this year in my 4’x8’ raised bed. I was thankful to have minimal vole damage. I noticed the larger potatoes grew around the perimeter of the bed. I harvested a few st 122 days. They were decent sized. I left the rest of the bed to go for 142 days and was pleasantly surprised with a decent amount of potatoes. I broke off those two Cherokee Tan Pumpkins when I was pulling the sweet potato vines. I am hoping they will continue to ripen. I can’t wait until next year!

Great harvest for a small area. I’m watching my own patch carefully. I don’t want to harvest too early and miss out on the growth that they do in the last couple of weeks. I also don’t want to wait too long as they can deteriorate too.

Yes that is what I was thinking. Last year I harvested at about 120 days or earlier and had small potatoes so I tested them then waited another 20 days before harvesting.
