“Trust the plan.” I’m constantly amazed by those who see what’s going on with their eyes wide open, but still believe with every fiber of their normalcy-biased being that someone is going to swoop in and make things right before they ever actually miss a meal.
For the third or fourth generation born into an anomalous period of prosperity, going “back to normal” might not mean what some think it means.

The state of my world is that I have accepted the things I can not change, and I am committed to changing what I can. I expect to buy some chickens tomorrow and see if I can keep all of them alive throilught the winter. My next project will be building a shed as soon as I can get over my reluctance to paying the county for the permit. I will spend this winter studying for my Permaculture Design Certificate and my Technician ham license.
For 2023, I will begin composting, I will plant a food forest in my backyard, I will try to het my hands on a guinea hoq or two, and I will NOT get lazy and let my garden die (again)! Lastly, I will make a consistent effort to quit being a hermit and try to build a network of decent people.

Hardware wallets are a great way to protect yourself when exchanges get hacked or go down. My rule is to only use the exchanges for making transactions. I keep my coins on a Ledger Nano so that if anything were to happen to Binance, I could just use another exchange. One limitation with this method is that cold storage devices are not configured to hold all types of coins, meaning that if you want to hold your SHIBA INU or DOGE offline, you’ll need to exchange it for something compatible with your device (BTC, ETH, XRP, etc.)

You’re right ababout greed being an oversimplification. A corporation is a legal entity whose sole purpose is to provide as much value to its shareholders as legally possible.
If the Chinese offer Tyson a better deal (even $0.01 per pound) for processing than the place across the street, then Tyson is legally obligated to accept. This is why tariffs are so important. Those taxes eat up the “savings” from outsourcing and allow (incentivize, force, whatever) corporations to do business domestically.
