I can’t tell if this is a funny gardening meme, or a sad political one…

I have been purposefully holding back posting about this, because it’s such a low hanging fruit, over used, and quite frankly cliched. This meme, though cuts directly to the heart of the matter, and gives us a stark warning of where the anti American and anti freedom rhetoric is headed. If you think it can’t happen here; think again. Be vigilant, be prepared and hold the line.

Throwback Thursday: The bodies of these 13 young service members were arriving at Andrews Air Force Base this time last year from Kabul. They are the result of our lack of vigilance and fortitude. Rest well my brother Marines, Sailors and Soldier, I am sorry.

Man, that’s a tough one. The person has to see the value in it. Good luck, if the person can’t find it on their own, and they are related to you. I’ll give you the same advice I give to anyone dealing with a spouse/relative that doesn’t want to participate. Quit trying. They won’t listen to you and it will only end up in an argument. Find a like minded someone they at least respect, if not trust, and have them talk to them about it. You’ll be amazed at the results of having someone else persuading them. The best thing you can do in any case is to be a good example and show them the enjoyment that can be had by making the change.

In all seriousness, there is just enough normalcy out there that people can delude themselves in to thinking “it’s not THAT bad”. There will come a day though when they look around and will go “Hey, what happened?!?” You know what the difference is between those people and the people that are talking about it and doing something now? That “Hey, what happened?!?” moment happened to us a long time ago.

Our group does that. In fact, we’ve got two firewood cutting days schedule at two different locations within the next 30 days. Part of our circle came to our place in June to help throw up a chicken coop on our property. Sometime, I’ll have to detail the firewood workday we did at our old place a couple of years ago. It’s a great way to help each other and fellowship..

You know, I have people tell me that all the time. I also have people that agree with me. I guess it’s like everything else in that treatment and service is not the same across the board. I am sincerely glad you are getting good treatment. One thing to remember, if you want to see what single payer health care looks like, we need go no further than the VA.

We also started a local group for building up our trade/ bartering locally. For now, once a month we’ll gather and people can bring produce, meat, soaps, etc to buy/sell/trade. We’ll also take turns teaching a skill or having a class at these gatherings.

I love it, we are trying to start something like that in our area. Our circle is up for it. Others are just waking up to the need for something like that.

You traded a finite object, the bucket of honey will eventually run dry, for a potentially infinite source of protein. I’d say you did well.👍
