Episode 8 will be premiering 9/19 @ 6:00 PM CST. the topic is Principle 15, which deals with prosperity and a free market economy. Tag has been extremely busy this past week, so unfortunately he wasn’t able to join me for our conversation. The upside of that is that Spags Unfiltered, the unapologetic anarchic capitalist, was able to pinch hit for him. As usual, he is his unfiltered self and we had a great time (IMO) with the topic. Spags said he would try to pop in to the premiere chat; it was short notice, so we can forgive him if he can’t.

Join us Tuesday, 7PM CST, for our weekly homestead update. Along with the update, this week, we are going to talk about getting ready to go to the “Back To The Land Festival” and the idea of “Full Spectrum Homesteading”. Of course we’ll be taking questions as usual. We hope to see you there.

I am not sure how I missed this conversation; it has been busy here, though. In hind sight, we know that a strike was averted for the time being. It still may happen and we could get the whole Atlas Shrugged labor relations effect; right now it seems clam. Both sides in the dispute are at fault, and like you said, in the end the tax payer will foot the bill. Spags Unfiltered and I actually touch on this in the latest episode of “What is Freedom?..” which drops tomorrow, Monday 9/19.

Your take on the reason to prepare at this time is spot on. There is ZERO reason to not think that things are going to get tougher. I’ll take it even a step further, though. I’ll say this time and time again, we need to prepare, because at some time during the week, we are going to encounter a day that ends in “Y”. With that said, homesteading is the ultimate expression of being prepared. Even though we are all at different milestones, we are in the right place by being here at Freesteading.

    Take care

Shameless plug here. This t-shirt was inspired out of a video that Spags and I shot last night. If you find the idea of Pumpkin Spice Adderall as darkly humorous as we did, .you can get your own at our Bonfire Store for a limited time: https://www.bonfire.com/store/grumpy-acres-farm/

While you are at it, go over and buy one of Spag’s “Unapologetically Capitalist” tee’s as well: https://a.co/d/56y9XDk

Throwback Thursday; let’s see what was posted a year ago…

If you know our story, this one hits close to home.

. Do you have any tips for beginner homesteading youtubers?

Just do it. Grab your phone, or inexpensive camera, and do it. Unless you have a background in media, or public speaking, chances are you are going to be cringe worthy at the start. Don’t worry about it; forge ahead. Unless you plan on having a schtick, don’t create a YT persona for the public to see. Be honest and true to who you are. If you aren’t, people will see through you very quickly. Have an idea of what your message is, and who your target audience will be, before you start. Be ready to pivot, if you have to. Pay attention to the analytics, even if you don’t fully understand them. As you grow, take time to learn the skill of making videos by watching successful creators, and watching the multitude of “how to create” videos out there. And finally, don’t be afraid to ask for advice, or approach more established creators. If they are worth their salt, especially homesteading channels, they will gladly talk to you. If they are dismissive or rude, let people know. Don’t forget, though, you’ve got a responsibility to not become a nuisance to them.

There’s my 2 cents, your mileage may vary.

One of the topics of tonight’s Livestream has changed. Had someone comment on my Full Spectrum Preparedness video basically saying “What are we preparing for, he’s been doing it a long time, and he can’t take his stuff with him.” There is a ton to unpack from his comment, and we are going to do that; hopefully.

I guess my point is that maybe if some folks got together with a nearby farmer and are willing to throw in for setting up a way to butcher as many did years ago that it may be in all parties best interests.

This is why Billy Bond, from Perma Pasture Farm, does his butchering classes. He thinks as many people as possible need to be at least conversant in butchering various animals. Hopefully, next spring he’ll be able to hold the week long “Butcher Fest” at SOE, in Camden TN.

Save the file as a .RTF and try it. Of just copy the text of the document and paste it directly in to the chat. – Grumpy

When they stuff us into the FEMA camp

Sorry, my man, I’m too old, fat and set in my ways to make that kind of move. My lance is planted here.
