Interested in why you want to preserve a little of a couple items over eating a fresh variety of things. It sounds like you don’t have enough space for 2 years worth of food?

Getting some things fixed up around the house and outdoors when it’s warm enough, financial planning. Setting myself up for more time I guess. But not to work, to actually enjoy the family and things I’ve worked for.

We are 60 mi from East Palestine Ohio. Where are we going to go where water and air are not allowed to be polluted and poisoned?

Zone 6, started onions and celery last week. Will be starting flowers and some herbs soon.

A couple years ago we added a humidifier to the furnace. As a cold fragile person, I was having the temp set to 72, 73 and now it’s 70 comfortably. Heavy blackout curtains are drawn over the lr Windows at night which also keep in the warmth. Will dry the wash outside in the summer.
We live on well now (never want to go back to city) so water is free and private trash/recycle pickup is so cheap. Still conserve by selecting appropriate size laundry on washer. Will use dehumidifier water in summer to water plants. Going to build a veggie wash station this spring pending finding a decent priced used sink and use the gray water to supplement the garden. Lots of ways to recycle water.
Would help to double on car trips. If it’s not urgent, wait until you need to go to a couple stores and get it done in one trip, thinking about the most efficient way.

I’d love to know why rabbits are priced as they are. Seems pricey for a rodent?

Some meals require a long time to make and so I will double, triple, quadruple a recipe and freeze the leftovers. It’s not much harder to make a bigger batch of a thing . Today I just took out a bag of frozen meatballs. Easy. That goes for prepping ingredients. Chop and wash a whole head of lettuce. Chop a whole onion. Refrigerate what you don’t use and it’s ready to go. Also as another poster described, recycle foods. Last nights pot roast is tonight’s beef and noodles. And wash dishes in between steps. Don’t wait. That drives me crazy. The husband will stand there watching onions cook after he just piled dishes in the sink. Multi tasking π

I believe I got a viral infection last year so lost quite a few onions but still have 3 onions left. Will be sad when I have to go buy a bag of onions soon. Are you growing the right onion for your location? Haven’t really had a problem growing them. Check soil pH, fertilize as needed, weed around the bulbs.

Has anybody got seeds from their local library? My library system has a seed library. I mean, they’re free…

It is not MY situation. It’s all of OUR situation. Go ahead and look into superfund sites, the amount of waste going into bodies of water intentionally, ground water contamination, soil contamination, deceit in air pollution, allowing toxic chemicals in food (our food is banned in developed countries!).
What do you think Trump’s presence is going to do? This country has decades of putting profits over people. A lot of people act like Trump’s their savior. I’m over it.

If you say a needed shot is$50 and they have good genes to be bred, then that makes more sense. I would not have considered vaccinating rabbits. All I know is that “breed like rabbits” comes from somewhere so $65-80 for a small animal that can have many offspring did not make sense. To me they are a nuisance in the garden and I do not enjoy petting rabbits or looking at them like many do. Thanks for the info.

If I wanted to reduce inflammation, I’d avoid the things that cause inflammation in the first place. I’d feel foolish to think a cup of tea is going to cure a body that’s being poisoned to begin with. Garbage in garbage out.
