I was just scrolling through trying to find this same thing! Is there a place where we can ask general questions about the platform? Also I would like to be able to see a list who is “following” me and who I’m following, like on Instagram. Also is there a way that we can create groups/forums, like Fakebook groups? I would like to see or create a group for breeding heritage poultry 😁

Hello, I have a steering meeting tonight. I will bring up the followers thing. I like this idea. We are currently in discussions about how the groups should work. one concern is that it will become a huge blur. we will continue to discuss.

Not sure if you are at all familiar with Tapatalk, but there is a very large group on there based on the book Keeping A Family Cow. They keep it very well organized and have certain trusted members who moderate and a reporting system to identify and remove troublemakers. They also have developed agreed upon rules for the group that are clearly posted. You might be able to get some good guidelines from their successes. It’s also another great resource for anyone starting out with livestock and gardening.

First , Catie, thank you for taking charge. As you can imagine there are so many things to consider when launching a social media platform. leaving comments here is great. I will do my best to get to them as fast as possible. Today you can put video link on and we are discussing hosting videos. The challenge is that the storage need is big when hosting videos. To date we have funded this project out of pocket. As time wears on, we would like to combine a you tube like feature.

Tag I know you guys are working around the clock to get all the bugs out and engineer solutions to a barrage of challenges. My only hope was that there would be a simplified arena where you could field the incoming questions and requests. I spent the whole day posting on other social media telling folks to come check this out. You guys have really done a terrific job already and I am expecting great things here.

Here are some suggestions:

1) Have the “Complete Your Profile” box hide after the member has completed the list, can expand the Recent Updates box into that area if the CYP box is hidden.

2) Allow members to edit their comments.

3) Allow members to set a default group such as their state sub-group. You can get this from My Group menu but if you click on the communities tab, you have to make a few more clicks to get back to your state group

4) Have the time stamps show in the members time zone

None of these items are critical just my former UI testing self noticed, overall the platform is fantastic! For being a platform that has just been released it is pretty amazing!

I’m also not really sure what the difference is between the groups and forums. It is almost like there is so much going on, I’m not sure where everything is. Not complaining! Love what you guys are doing!

Another suggestion…inside the Forum or Community pages, add another section/area for “Buying” or “In Search Of (ISO), where people can post the item they are looking for.

I know a marketplace is being worked on, but that won’t be til 2023. This could give people an option to connect with other sellers of that product. And you wouldn’t have countless sellers posting all of their items.

For instance, I am looking to buy some elderberries, and don’t want to buy them off Amazon (or the like). I swore I saw someone the other day either post about elderberry, or have it in their timeline photo, but I’ve scoured the site with searches in the forums/communities area and haven’t found anything. If I could just post that I’m looking for elderberry, a seller of that could comment and we connect.

Then when the marketplace is ready, that Buying page could be taken down.

I bought my elderberries from Nourse Farms for around $10 apiece. They were small rooted cuttings when I got them this spring and are nearly 5 ft tall and very healthy already.

I am looking for a place in the “States”-type area that would be divided into growing zones. The header picture could be the U.S. hardiness map to help folks that aren’t sure which zone is theirs, or they can look at more than one if they are close to a dividing line. We could use this to

#1 commiserate about the weather 🌡️🤣

#2 seed swap for what grows really well in the hardiness zone (my real motivation)

#3 another point of connection. Let’s spiderweb up the place with all the connecting lines between folks.
