I would also add a share function to be able to share ideas or posts with others. And/or a like/save/bookmark function, to be able to view posts later in the future that someone likes.

I would like to see moveable profile tabs so I can make my photos be the first thing people see on my profile
I would also like the reply button for community posts to be at the top so I don’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of discussions to reply to the question lol I’m on mobile while posting this
It would be awesome to have a section where mentors could apply to mentor newbies and newbies could apply to be mentored! 😊
I would also like to have an articles section on my profile to share my own blog posts about things

I really like this idea. Grow zones would be nice. At least a map.
I would like a reference section that includes maps that are asked often.

All these things are great so far. One thing I’d like to see is maybe something like thrifty upcycle/recycle/reuse ideas. For instance, I save my feed bags and then make reusable shopping type bags, firewood totes, and even tarps. With the economy as it is everything helps when you don’t have to buy something instead of making do. I save almost everything that most people throw away if I can think of another way to use it- like coffee cans, yogurt cups, etc. I imagine most people have some great original ideas that would be beneficial to a lot of folks. Of course, some things might require a how-to video or something, Or a detailed explanation of how to re-make the things I mentioned and things like that.

There have been several ideas for different forums. Brings up the question, how would these forums be moderated. Freesteading.com is all about free speech. Someone has to tidy up the place and sweep the floors, though.

I’m techtarded, but rather than trying to assign someone to babysit each forum/group, maybe a system could be implemented that if a user or post is reported 3-5 times, that user becomes temporarily unable to post, and the post is hidden until someone is available to review the situation. That could mitigate spam, porn, scammers, what-have-you.
For irritating (yet not quite illegal or T&C violating) content/users, the block button works. Click it and that user disappears from your reality.

I like your idea of upcycling. I too like to figure out ways of revamping something old to new. That is great idea. So many things can be remade into more useful things. It isnt new but I like to take y fabric scraps very small to larger sizes and turn them into “new” material to use later. It saves money when you think about all the scraps people normLly throw away because theyre too small to make anything else. Great 💡 that you asked for

Yes, just thought having all in one place would be nice! 😀

How about what I don’t want to see? 1) Reposting and 2) a picture of someone’s dinner.
-
I’ll try to keep my dinner postings to a minimum 🤣 but I do enjoy sharing recipes 😬🤗🤣

After thinking about my post, I wish I hadn’t said it. I was being a cranky old woman. Of course people will post their beautiful garden dishes! Duh…Forgive me.
-
I love this post. thank you for saying sorry. I understood your first point but thank you for leading

We all get cranky at times…. have a blessed weekend and here’s a virtual hug hoping it helps get rid of that old cranky bug…. 😉

This may be food for thought but my biggest pet peeve with social media is topic organization.
The best example I’ve seen, and forgive me not an expert, is how Ice Age Farmer set up different groups of interest in his telegram channel.
Just a thought.

Josh it will be available soon. They are working on it.

It would be awesome if people could add stories so we could see what they’re up to during the day whenever they feel like sharing like IG/FB has! That would definitely help keep people here.
Also profile tabs that we can move around. I’d like to have my photos first on my profile then my about me section or maybe my about me section above my photo section. 😊
Having a marketplace definitely will be good for the site! I see the marketplace already listed to be created on the timeline though so that’s great can’t wait for that to come! 👍🏻👏🏻
Maybe eventually we could also have our own shops but I’m not sure what you’ll have to do legally for that part and if it would be more of a hassle then anything but you could charge sellers a small fee for letting people use the shop option when they get sells. Like $3 or something. Then that money could go back into the website for more things or to giveaways for website podcasts.

When clicking on the [Read More] I would like to field to expand instead of being taken to another page. When this happens I am finding myself scrolling and looking for the article I was reading especially if the entry was done some time ago.
-
I am completely new here and still exploring. I would love to see a shopping section, like Etsy or Marketplace or even just a “Wanted” section. I am looking for fruit trees and pickle barrels by the way.😆

I would like to see a “like” button under every comment in addition to the posts. Sometimes what someone else says strikes a chord with me but I dont necessarily feel the need to add a comment of my own.
Like someone else said a bartering/trading section would be awesome, as would be a “FREE” section. I do hope the marketplace will have a feature to filter by location.
One last thing, as this platform grows maybe a section for safety tips? The feeling of likemindedness here may lead to a sense of comraderie, which is great but I fear may also lead to sometimes letting ones guard down. I know I could use some frequent cautionary reminders!
Thank you all so much for your hard work creating this site. Being a software engineer (QA), I appreciate the many, many hours of building and testing this platform represents!
