About You

About You

I was born and raised almost my entire young life in Germany.  My Oma (Grandmother) was, and still is my rock. She was a Chef.  She taught me to crochet and knit and some cooking. We traveled all around on her bicycle, me on the back.  Many times we would sit in her livingroom just crocheting and her telling me the stories of her life growing up and of course living through Hitlers war. I left Germany in 1983 to live here in the States. I stay in touch with my family (cousins) and try to visit them as much as possible. Of course this pandemic has stopped that for a while. They come here to visit me and my family every few years also.. My cousins and I remain close even though all our elders are gone.

I am a Widow of disabled Vet. I am a Patriot. I love to shoot my guns and have recently learned to shoot my new crossbow. I hunted in the past but havent in a long time.

I love meeting new people and learning different ways of doing things. I have 3 children and I must say the one daughter I have is a true blessing in my life. I love my sons also but am very close to my sweet little girl, lol shes 40ish.

I’ve worked in many fields. Butcher, Cabinet builder, Nursing (LPN), waitress, Secretary,  Apatment Manager, helping disabled people. The last job I had before retiring was in Construction. I wanted to travel and see new places. I traveled to many places including Hawaii in which I was there for 4 1/2 months. It was great.

I love to work with my hamds, crochet, knit, sew, making soaps,  canning, dehydrating, bake home made bread,  making junk journals, creating my own medicinal herbal combos, gathering wild edibles etc. I make my own lip salve also from all natural organic products.

I love watching homesteaders on utube. I learn a lot of things from watching them. I’m hoping this Freesteading will be my onestop for learning from others new techniques etc,  and meeting like minded people.  I quit Facebook and all the other platforms 3 years ago and have been looking for something that wasn’t run by some big corporations.  I want to talk to “real” people.

I would like to see Preppers on this platform also. I think its important ( especially this day and age) that people think about prepping, whether a little or a lot. If nothing happens that you don’t use your goods for emergency, at least you’ll have the knowledge of surviving on your own if you had to.

I can’t wait for this group to expand,   and am looking forward to new adventures.
