I have seen a few other smaller social media sites have like a flag that allows you to see global/everyone or your friends/who you follow. Might be a good option that gives the option for either!

  • This is such a wonderful gift for someone’s homestead. This would be a wonderful addition and allow us to grow food all year round for our family.

This is something we were just discussing in the house today. Our power company announced that our bills would go up by $20 for an average household (1,000 kilowatt hours in a month). We are always trying to find ways to lower our bills and that one will be something else we have to prepare for. We know that we need to update our water heater so going to see what type of change that makes. I also even mentioned about maybe we need to update our heat pump to a super self efficient one or go with the mini splits like Tag uses.

I feel like one of the best investments in our current situation is in education. You can never have too many books (actual PAPER) on hand in subjects that are relevant to the homestead. How to take care of your livestock with basic first aid, building compost, growing in your area, and so on. This is an area I feel like we have a good foot hold on, but right now, I have a list of books I am buying up that I feel will benefit us as things become more expensive. I am also looking at books that I can use to help give me any ideas on how to build the best property possible. If I get one good idea that is going to pan out for years, I feel like it is worth it.

We are in Southwest VA, and found Deep South through Perma Pastures and have learned so much in a short time, and the baby loves watching Danny! We would love the Alexa Pure filter, as we do live off well water and always want to have a back up on hand!

#1 How about adding City and County along with State so that members can find closer individuals easier.

Don’t worry about looks/lawn. Use all of your space! We are planning transferring our whole front yard into a terrace/swell garden/orchard mix. Lots of ideas from Billy at Perma Pastures.

I don’t know if there is anything to it or not, but myself and my wife’s allergies didn’t seem as bad when we were doing local honey a couple times a week. I think we will be starting that back up!

Same boat as you. Poison Ivy/Oak kicks my butt and have to have plenty of allergy meds on hand
