It took a while for me to get through to some of my family. At least my mother and two sisters are preparing for times to come, but I don’t think they are where they should/could be. Just spoke to one of my sisters this morning and she was wondering whether or not to clean out a live-insurance to pay off the house and I told her that with what’s coming, the live-insurance most likely will be gone and to go ahead and do it. Can’t wait to see how they decide.

I vote for keeping it this way. I like reading through new posts with new ideas and maybe connecting with new people which I otherwise wouldn’t have seen. As mentioned by others before, maybe an option button would make more sense. Thanks.

Well, I have both, a 6’/8′ greenhouse I bought from Harbour Freight and a self-made 8’/9′ high tunnel made with welded wire/cattle panels. It probably really depends on the quality of the greenhouse you buy, but my little greenhouse is not as tight as the high tunnel. Granted, in the summer the high tunnel gets hotter because of its positioning to the prevailing winds to air it out, but, like mentioned before, the greenhouse seems to cool out much quicker. In winter, I only store cold hardy plants in there that I just want to get out of the harsh/freezing winds.
Some time/month ago, I watched a video in which they showed a high tunnel where the owner constructed a second layer as an added barrier for warmth, sort of an air pocket for additional insulation (a high tunnel within a high tunnel), maybe that’s something you want to consider.
good luck ๐

I actually didnโt start with prepping, but simply wanted to change my lifestyle for my husband and I. It all started in โ16 when both, my husband (diverticulitis) and dad (cancer) got sick. As I did more and more research how to heal both problems, I found out that food is the biggest culprit. I started small and one thing lead to another. That same time, Merkel had opened the floodgates to Europe and I learned everything I could geopolitically and by the end of โ17, I knew things were going down hill and inโ18 I got my chickens and turned into a prepper. I also grew up on a homestead,

Hi Tag, @TagNBee
not sure if you already saw this request, but we were hoping you can help us out.
Thanks for all you do !

Thanks for the tip, I’m going to try this.
We don’t eat a lot of mayo either, but we like to eat it on the occasional burger and whatever, so a little goes a long way.

I love working with chairs, you can be so creative with them. I have so many skeletons in the basement and garage just waiting to be revived. ๐

Absolutely, but they’re rare. I’m banking on my husband converting my reg sewing machine into a treadle. He literally has a bicycle store in the garage and could use all sort of parts for it. ๐

Same here, too many projects at once. ๐คฏ

I actually got a second one just to have as a backup, other than that, I drew a sketch of my garden and copy it for each new season to record what I planted where. It also lets me see what I planted where last year so not to plant the same in the same place. I also track which box I fertilized it with manure.

An erasable yearly calendar, thatโs a great idea . ๐ก Anything that helps to keep track of everything to keep your brain free for other thought projects. ๐

Thank you so much !

Yes, that would be a good title too. ๐

Ah, yes, taking your own notes will help you retain info much better.
Iโm sure Tag will have to come to the realization that seeing is part of a homestead live. ๐
