the homeless today are nothing like the hobo’s of the past. Old time hobos traveled, and mostly stuck to the country, usually searching for work, and for the most part, self sufficient. During the depression, many would not beg, or accept charity because they had honor and pride, todays homeless have a ideal of entitlement, and thievery, usually blaming others for their condition. (life is tough, bad things happen, how you cope with it has a great influence on whether you rise above it, or sink because of it) The vast majority of the homeless today are addicts who flocked to the cities to be closer to the source. Mostly because they have begged and stolen from their friends and family to the point of being rejected. There are exceptions, and I do believe in helping those, but for the vast majority, they have to hit their own bottom and decide to quit for themselves. (and become a productive member of society, not a burden) For too many, the homeless addict lifestyle is glorified among their own flock.

I have tried the cheap ones, they never last. Last year I switched to Bootstrap farmer. https://www.bootstrapfarmer.com/collections/plug-trays I like them a lot better, I like the color collections that change but go on sale periodically. they let me use different colors for different plants. I have been eyeing the silicone inserts, Maybe when I decide I need more they will be next, for now release is easy with a small dibbler through the bottom. The bootstrap trays are more substantial than the flimsy box store, so far I’m happy.

Its the UV rays that kill plastic, so when not in use they get stored in the basement

I had no agenda or affiliation in my question. It basically stems mostly from recent events where too many swear an oath, only to quickly go against it. Mostly for swearing into office or for court testimony purpose. Since so many are non Christian, or of certain faiths that do not follow the bible teachings. What object could be used to hold a similar compulsion for them?

Here is a question I have been mulling on for a while. Tradition has pretty much every oathtaker place a hand on the bible to swear. In a time when so many reject Christianity, they freely swear, then lie under oath, or go against promises made. What object could hold the same moral compass weight for a non Christian to adhere to?

( I was raised Christian, and always held belief, but wavered for a while. I have been pulled back. But as a sidenote I worship mostly on my own, as my experiences with too many organised churches have left me…. less than satisfied)

They use something similar to the OP for a homemade deer feeder. Im guessing they just add a 2 ft rise to each side so squirrel/rats can get in, but keep the feed level low enough so bigger things cant reach.

Like this, but with a pipe both sides, the bottom is just capped. but usually with drain holes

rural kids/city kids… THATS the difference. Spend time with the kids, they NEED it. We have all seen the kids who have a video game, or head in the phone mentor. It makes a huge difference in what kind of people they become

I have the same problem. Rabbits were easy to deter, but the squirrels are determined. I have a handicapped neighbor that feeds them peanuts. They race right to my garden to bury them and dig up everything they dont chew on.

I like this. I use exactly that in miniature for mice and chipmunk. 5 gal bucket size About half full of water, but I sprinkle black sunflower seeds on the water, just enough to float and cover the surface. looks like a bucket of seed till they splash in. needs a stick or board with a nail through one end hooked over the rim as an on ramp. many times 6 or more in a few hours. best thing I have found for mice.

Now, to find a garbage can that dont leak amongst my bunch….
