👍 I’ve had a cat in the past that I think was probably poisoned by one of the cat foods that needed to be recalled. I hope someone has an answer to this.

At the family farm the few cows the in-laws have drink indiscriminately marginally serviced stock tanks at the house end of the pasture or the pond at the base of the hill on the other end; the latter is shared with deer, foxes, raccoons, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. It seems to not affect them. When it dried to pudding this year, they just switched to the stock tanks.

(Consider this an “I, too, would like to know” more than as an answer).

Didn’t have the Mango version of the Sketchy Sunny D drink they usually carry; very few bottled drinks at all. What can I say, I had a LowBrow Craving.
What they had on the candy aisle was scrunched up to the front in a couple of feet of shelf.

They *do* have green bead strings and paper thin bowler hats for Saint Patrick’s day, so you can breathe a sigh of relief over that.

One of the more prosaic requests is what exactly Jack does with two big black trash cans to compost. My wife was already vague on the subject but ordered the two trash cans anyway. They are sitting in the living room, ready for drilling and some type of filling, but she didn’t take notes on which episode it was and they’ve been sitting there for weeks. If anyone remembers the episode #, or if Jack talks about it again in his rota, you might leave a directing comment below. Thanks.

This is a grand idea. Some version of opt-in, voluntary location sharing, was to be implemented with this site, and I have endorsed the creation of an onboard graphical user interface for that. To date, there still seems to be a lot of friction inherent in the system. Currently one method is to crib any information from the *introduce yourself* sections of the various state groups for every state along your route (go out to the main States group; select another subgroup/state to enter into. Repeat).

The City of Nashville is going to approve the largest payout to the NFL in History this year for a new stadium, for instance.

Jack Spirko had talked to a friend of the dairy-owning family, who conveyed that they figured it for sabotage–“an inside job” to be exact.

I want to know what in a dairy cafo is so explosive that it will outright kill 18K cows at one blow

It’s a delicate balance for the site creators to keep functionality while encouraging growth through ‘cross pollination’ of interests. I’ve suggested to Tag, a “toggle” on the top level (I use the desktop site) between “firehose” and “responses from my threads/my interests”.

At least you’re getting your money back offered. They send me letters with 30% of what I paid all the time. They are targeting owners who’ve been there forty years and not kept up with what land prices have done in the meanwhile. They get enough suckers to bite to make it worthwhile, I guess.

There was some unrestricted land three miles off the interstate near me, eight acres about 6K per, on a paved road, unimproved with power line. That’s fully half price of most land out in my area, and it hit the sheets. A realtor can set an automatic Pick for you (I asked about houses and land both) and can describe a circumference around a center point (which is what I have set up, like ten mile circumference around a place where I have friends out in the country.) I found 60 acres of timberland for 4000 an acre two years ago and just could not make the logistics work. It’s a game of persistence.

Someone asked where you’re looking. The more you give the community, the closer they will be to helping with more than vague principles. If you are looking in half a dozen states, fair deal. You might join all of the relevant State Communities on Freesteading. If you say you are looking to be at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in an unincorporated area with no land restrictions, or you’re looking at West Texas ahead of the secession–that’ll narrow some things down for the folks here. Some might have a lead. Best of luck.

Huh. I wonder if we’ll see any of that in our DolGens Here.

Well, upper OH, a pioneer in The Industrial Revolution, in a state full of innovation in flight and space, has its share of brownfields and will reap the whirlwind of decades of deregulation and neglect of our rail infrastructure.

I had been laughed at for saying 5G was rushed at the time of rollout and there’s possibly some serious problems with it. I sent this link out to one of the techs that did so and have received crickets in return. https://www.propublica.org/article/fcc-faa-5g-planes-trump-biden
