After 2 weeks, the paw paw cutting actually had roots forming. They did so well, we were able to sell some of them at the Midwest Preparedness Festival. We are going to get some more in the next day or two, along with some other trees. They should be the last ones we are able to get this year, and will give us a good batch before winter sets in.

Just scrape the bottom of the cage from time to time and you are golden. Brace the bottom well, so it doesn’t sag. Here’s a pic of ones I built years ago, when we were living in suburbia. They are made from recycled pallets and an asphalt roofing sheet. I used a scraper to rake the rabbit poop off the roof of the bottom cage of the double decker. I used them for about 8 years, before I sold them.

Good people will not do evil things,…
There’s the hitch in the giddy-up. The world is full of “good people” that do all sorts of bad things. There is a saying in regards to security that goes, “Locks aren’t made to keep bad people out. They are made to keep good people honest.” I am not negating what you’ve said, just making the point that we won’t know who the “good people” are until we are in the thick of it. That’s why building your community now is so important; vet people now, instead of when your life may depend on it.

So just get down there on the bad guys level and see what they’ll see. Then fix any possible issues you find.
Sage security advice JDm!

At the very least, plant poison ivy/oak/sumac in locations that bad guys might hide. Not sure if it would stop an attacker; it would be vindictive as heck, though.

Excellent!

I’ve bumped in to the founder at various events in MO, and spoke to him at VFW fundraisers for Camp Valor Outdoors. he’s legit, IMO.
