I’m right there with you! Everyone would always look at me crossways when I would say I don’t have fakebook. My whole family tried and tried to get me on board. To no avail. And like you, I’m so very glad I didn’t!! However, I’m sure Apple is capturing my every move. πŸ™„

Thank you for sharing your experience with me! I believe I’m gonna sow some on one end of our garden, closest to the end that I’m changing from tilling to permaculture. My husband is a firm believer in tilling and I’m wanting him to change to perma. The only way I can convince him, is to show him. So our garden is now split in half! His and Hers. πŸ˜„ No thank you on the thistle and crabgrass!! Have plenty myself!☺

πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚ Now that sounds like a plan!!! Eventually, he is going to come around to my way of thinking!! His health ain’t gonna let him continue to till or plow very much longer. I’ve sectioned off a part of the garden for me to start building up the soil and I told him not to touch it!! It’s an experiment. He seemed to be ok with that. Bless him!!

So weed control question…. we plant the clover in the fall, it grows and prevents other weeds from spreading. Then, when ready to plant the garden, do you just till it into the soil? Or how does that work? Sorry for so many questions. Newbie on everything here! Well kinda. This is my third year having a garden tilling and working the soil. Just discovered permaculture and want to transform our garden. I just need to convince my husband that he doesn’t need to till anymore!!

I was just confused on how to go about doing it. All I had been doing was tossing the scraps in the run. And they have a pretty big run. More like open range. I couldn’t figure out how I was going to collect the composted material if it was all scattered everywhere. Duh! Bless my heart. All I gotta do is pick a particular spot and just put it all there. Guess I was trying to make it more difficult than it is. Typical me. lol

Thank you for sharing your techniques with me! What is biochar? And you said if it starts smelling you add charcoal? I’ve just been tossing the scraps in the run for them to pick at. But now I’m gonna pick a spot like you said and do it that way. Thanks again for your help!!

Ty! I’ve just been spreading the scraps out all over the run and just letting them pick and scratch at it. I guess I need to designate a particular spot to make it easier to collect.

First time chicken mom here… so do you just dump the scraps and stuff on the ground in the chicken run for them to scratch around in? Do you add anything else to it? Like extra hay or grass clippings? I’m lost and apparently need step by step directions! πŸ€“πŸ™„ I can’t figure out how chickens scratching around in scraps turns into compost. πŸ€”

Guess it’s a good thing I’m not in it for the money huh? 😁 I’m just in it to help the little guys out! And my garden of course. My husband might think differently though! πŸ™ƒ

Ty kindly sir! I’ve subscribed to his video and understand not to purchase bees until Spring and from my area thanks to your lovely wife! I really do appreciate ya’lls help. I’m a full time caregiver to my 37yo disabled son who is living with a TBI. He has been showing some interest in bee keeping and I pray this may be a way to help keep his brain stimulated in a positive way. If not, that’s ok. I’m still Elly Mae and want to mama and take care of everything! so what’s a few more bees right? 😁
