Facebook

I logged into FB which I do not do very often, and it would not let me log off. I tried even going into the settings and doing a force stop, rebooted my phone, but nothing worked. Went in to settings and reset pswd, but came across something interesting. “Off Facebook Activity!” I am one of those that don’t allow FB access to any of my files, log off after every use and disconnect wifi or data at night. I don’t even use google or chrome, but a browser that blocks most of that. I was shocked to say the least of what they had in that file! Even my documents! I finally got logged off after clearing the cache didn’t work, I wiped the whole thing clean and then uninstalled it from my phone!

I am so glad I never got on the Book of Face. More and more they are looking like a three letter creature that is pretending to be a private company.

You were smart! I only use it now to see whats going on with my grandkids. After this though, ignorance is bliss is my new motto!

I’m right there with you! Everyone would always look at me crossways when I would say I don’t have fakebook. My whole family tried and tried to get me on board. To no avail. And like you, I’m so very glad I didn’t!! However, I’m sure Apple is capturing my every move. 🙄

Thank you for the heads up concerning “off Facebook activity”!I always knew Facebook was an evil three letter entity.I’ve had the app on my iPad for years but no longer. I gotta dig deeper into this. Thank you again For the info.

Very welcome! I go to great lengths to keep FB out of my business. I had it set at ‘No Permissions’ and this happened. It is because of the Meta they rolled out! So many people were getting hacked it was unreal. I think they do it when some accepts a friend request from a cloned account and they gain access to your page. I’m done with it!

After they were bought by Meta, the directions for deleting your account quit working. The last few steps are either no longer available or hidden. I cant figure out how to do it.

I knew it had to do with Meta but I need to delete my account all together. Glad you told me this. Now its all rolled up into one, what you do one a site, seems like its all collected as a whole regardless. I couldn’t believe it even had my downloaded documents in it even though FB had no permissions.

Just a heads-up … Even if you don’t have a Facebook account, it knows all about you. Especially if you visit sites that have that neat little row of social media icon links on their pages. If you’ve ever filled out an email box to join a group, receive a newsletter or download something, Facebook is watching most of the time. Plus, most people do not read the Terms Of Service of each website they visit. You may be shocked what you have agreed to by just navigating their website. “Nothing is private these days.”

I rarely look at a Facebook page but my neighbor monitors it daily. We always laugh about how Facebook will offer up advertising to him directly related to the conversations we had the previous night sitting on my porch. It’s proof that our conversations are monitored by our cellphones. And … that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

What scared me the most was when it started offering up suggestions on the topics of things I had merely thought about and not said out loud, while in a completely different part of the house. I dont have a “smart” home! Or when I would go somewhere WITHOUT MY PHONE and later when I was back home would be suggestions about the location I had been. I dont use blue tooth and I have a 10 year old car. WTH.

Oh my gosh! Right!!? I had been off of FB for about a month when I asked my husband to use his phone (he still has FB) to check the church FB page for something, and I grabbed it and clicked the FB icon and it asked me, “would you like to switch accounts?” It had never ever asked him that. We had old phones with no face recognition crap. We both freaked out and now turn off phones all wi-fi and lock all devices when not using.

This has been happening to me for almost 10 years… not with FB (bc I haven’t been on FB for 4 years), but YT gives me ads for things I merely thought about as well. Or I go to my bedroom without my phone, no computer, etc …and take a particular supplement, go to the living room, turn on YT and the first ad was for the exact supplement I just took. Or I get a piece of mail, then walk into my house, turn on YT and ….you guess it, lol ….I get an ad for the very wntity my mail was from. 🙄 I didn’t even read the mail out loud.

Art, you are completely right, at one time I was naive, thinking am nobody and my post don’t really mean anything in the big World Wide Web, however AI pays attention to nobodies.

I deleted my Facebook account about 4 years ago.

Then I realized the application on my phone was still tracking me.

People without facebook accounts have accounts, the just do not know it.

My solution so far was to get an old Pixel phone 3A and load Lineage OS on it, my phone does not have google services on it.

Below are some suggestions for alternatives.

I quit Facist Book several months ago. I cleared my cache/cookies once to just clean up things. FB wouldn’t allow me back on or even reset my password. They wanted my passport or marriage license or drivers license yada friggin yada. A damn list of about 10 things. It was a way to get more info. Maybe the reason for the ‘grilling’ was I always stated my mind. Course the important stuff went into the ‘comments’ as the algorithm didn’t monitor the comment section – just your main post. I tested it several times and the main ‘post’ got fact checked or shadow banned. If I said the same thing in a comment, it never got flagged. VPN’s are the same. If you don’t want your neighbor to know that it’s you stealing their tomatoes, get you a private network. If they want to surveil you, they will. Period!! Why anyone would carry their phone mystifies me. If Brother Bubba broke his finger while picking his nose, in the morning, we’d hear about it at dinner or supper. The world didn’t end in those few hours. Better quit. 🙂

<div>I just read this yesterday. It does seem quite apparent that Zuck and his app are both CIA tools.</div>
