For me (on andrioid) you can tell where the post was posted by looking next to the poster’s name. In the first picture it just says Username “posted an update” that means it’s on the main feed. In the second picture, all of the posts say Username “posted an update” or “replied to a discussion” in X group or X forum. Clicking those will take you somewhere else.
Lifehack (maybe?): instead of clicking “read more,” try clicking on the poster’s name/picture, then on their “timeline.” That should be a list of their posts, and the one you are looking for is probably at or very near the top of the list.
Also, if you don’t want to lose you place on the main feed, open up the post in a new tab or window so that you don’t have to scroll down again when you return to the main feed.

As far as things to look out for, make sure that it is chambered in 5.56 (it’ll be stamped on the barrel). A 5.56 barrel can handle .223, but you should not fire 5.56 through a .223 barrel. Also, I like to have a functioning forward assist (some budget builds omit this). That’s about it for an entry level plinker. Come on back if you ever want to talk optics and lasers!

Three budget friendly, but good quality, options are:
Armalite M15
M&P 15 Sport II
Ruger AR-556
If you’re feeling extra adventurous, ATI (American Tactical Imports) supposedly has a polymer AR for about $450.

Definitely interested, ever since I read John Ross’s “Unintended Consequences” a few years back. Especially interested after seeing the difference beween shooting MILSURP 7.62 and some expensive .308 from my Rem 700.

Welcome! I’m in the same boat, just under an acre and almost half is taken up by the septic system. No excuses though, I’m making it work!

Welcome AD, how are the guineas working out for insect control? I’ve heard that might be an urban…(rural?) legend. Also, don’t worry about your imperfections; I’ve only ever heard on one perfect carpenter in all of recorded history.

Rainwater collection from a clean metal roof is pretty much the gold standard. You can buy a downspout diverter that will divert some of the initial downpour (and whatever leaves, acorns, dirt, pollen and bird dropping were on your roof) away from your collection barrels for a few seconds. Terminating your downspout a couple inches above your collection barrel and installing a tight mesh over the hole in the barrel will prevent critters from finding their way in. Geoff Lawton like to say that if you can breathe the air, you can drink the rainwater.
