Research your nitrogen fixers before planting them. Some are alleopathic. Others are invasive, like the mesquites that I battle on our place.

This song and it’s lyrics are deeply moving to me. It speaks of a time of great tumult, death and suffering, at least regionally as apocalyptic as anyone could imagine. I’ll post the lyrics and a video of a performance so that those who have also lost some of their hearing to machinery and gunfire can fully appreciate it.

Good info. I appreciate you pulling it up. The problem is that is for areas 4 or 500 miles North of where I’d be growing it. Very different climate. I’m hoping someone closer to my latitude has done it and has advice. Thanks!

Speaking of entry level ARs, Here is a nice entry level LPVO. I have mounted and zeroed these and I really like them. On sale at Midway. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1017914338?pid=297203 D

Jonathan – Keep small parts on hand. You are more likely to lose a part than have one break. Takedown detents and their springs, Buffer detents and springs, etc. A lower parts kit is a good starting point. The other part is a bolt carrier group. If you can’t keep the carbine from getting carboned up you can throw a fresh unit in and get it running again.
The other thing to think about is tools. There are some good sets out there for ars. Some of the components will get mangled without the right tools. D

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend”…..
Sounds plausible on the surface, but that is exactly how a bunch of socio-commie aholes who would have just been annoying outliers with some followers became heads of state. Roosevelt (closet commie) and Churchill did everything they could to equip anyone who said they would fight the Axis powers. Most of them did just enough to keep the goodies rolling in and cached most of it for use after the war ended. When it did end the revolutions began and we had another 30+ years of high to low intensity fighting that cost a bunch of that generation’s lives. Consequences.

I often wonder this about myself and my “crew”. We aren’t getting any younger. Some of the kids grew up to be badasses. Special forces, state troopers etc, but none of them close. Some not even in Conus. Might not even be able to get back here if shtf. I figure the best we can do is put in the work to grow sufficient calories for everyone and make the most of what we have. If raiders show up we fight. If they are skillful or numerous and determined enough we probably won’t win, but we will do a LOT of damage.
I was talking to a guy who told me he had 3,000 rounds for each of his rifles. I asked him how many rounds he thought he would be able to fire before the bad guys got him. He looked confused. He had not thought of that. How much ammo do I want? All of it, but I don’t expect to fire 3,000 rounds in one engagement.

Most of these people will never be contrite. You send criminals to prison and you execute the serial killers. Cuomo? How many elderly died in NY nursing homes because of his putting cvirus patients in them? Same with Gretchen Whitmer in MI. Fauci? I don’t even want to go there. There are a lot of demons in hell waiting for those people to show up. Eternity is a long time.

The last build I did for myself was a basic 16″ palmetto state armory. Don’t get too wrapped up in brand names. There is a potential for problems with any of them, but it’s typically easy enough to fix. When you do get one, put a little oil on all the reciprocating surfaces and fire a hundred rounds through it. Slowly. If it works ok it should serve you well for a long time.

It won’t have to be a super heavy duty bench/table if that’s all you will use it for. For a vise watch craigslist and check out antique/junk shops.

I use regular steel punches on ars. Brass comes in handy for handgun or other sights that have to be drifted.
It depends on how far you want to disassemble/ assemble your carbine. If you have a vise it is easier to do several tasks.
A mag well vise block is good to hold a lower stationary for service.
A reactor rod is the best way to hold an upper.
An armorer’s wrench will do several tasks, but will not typicaly hold up to a lot of use. There are more secialized tools for barrel nuts/buffer castle nuts etc. that will last longer.
1/4″ clevis pin for the front takedown detent.
Most of the other tools are common ones you probably have already.

Hi Grumpy, I think they have to be taught a lesson and dealt with as the criminals they are. They have literally murdered millions of people over the last 3 years. That’s something Adolph or Joseph would appreciate and Pol Pot would have been orgasmic over it. Some inner city kid gets caught with narcotics and goes to jail. These people are murderers and they don’t?

No! no amnesty! I want the lot humiliated and prosecuted. How many old folks were murdered in nursing homes? How many were “ventilated” to death? How many deaths and “incidents” ate still occuring due to the vaxx? It was a murderous, evil project and death and money ran rampant, and it still is.
