My well is 280 ft deep and requires a 240 volt system. Was going to cost around 10,000.00 for the set up. It is possible, but not cheap. Bluetti has a whole house plug amd play system now that will run that system. It was about 7,000 2 years ago. It may be less now. I run my well off of a gas generator that cost 800.00. It’s a 12,000 watt generator. Hope that helps! For 240 volts you have to have no less than 6,000 watts a spike wattage of 7,500 watts to run it properly.

I made myself crazy (lol) 2 years ago trying to do solar for my well pump. I’m a big fan of plug amd play and Bluetti is my favorite. Hope this helps you.

I had 3 chicken that got a little frost bite during that “attic blast”. Is there anything that I should be doing. The areas have now turned black. I love my chickens. I thought I had them safe and secure from the cold. It just breaks my heart! Any suggestions welcome.

One project at a time to stay sane. It’s taking me twice as long to establish my off grid farm, but it’s coming along. I only plan what has to be planned. Otherwise, I get up each day and decide what needs to be done and what my body will allow. I put no pressure on my self. As long as I complete one project a day (big or small), I feel accomplished. I have a little help on the weekends with my adult sons coming to work on projects. It’s taken them 8 months to build a 12×12 storage building. None of us have building experience… so it’s one YT university video at a time to figure it out. Lol. We make it fun with not having to pressure ourselves. Yes, it would be nice to move along a bit faster, but it is what it is. Jesus guides my spirit of what my focus should be. Example of a project, I’ve never plumbed my sink. That’s next. I didn’t spend much tome at the property last winter, so I didn’t need a sink. I washed dishes in a galvanized tub. I have a washer spinner for laundry. This winter I am at the farm 90% of the time, so I need the inside of the shed to cabin complete and more functional. I have peace just walking the property and praising God for what I have and am debt free! Well, we all have auto insurance and a cell bill, but that’s it. I don’t consider things that need supplied such as gas, propane, amd butane, chicken feed, and hay as a debt. Those items are just in the budget for functionality. I sought your advice 2 years ago, Wanda, regarding a lease land or owning. I took your advice and purchased the land. I’ve sold all other property that I owned in town and I pay cash for anything that I’ve needed. I save up and don’t make purchases until I have cash in hand. This process has released any stress or pressure. I’ve stepped out of the every day hustle of small city life. I add to my preps monthly. At the moment, wheat berries and beans are the items being stored in a big way. Getting ready to render lard. I find peace in what I’m doing and at a manageable pace. Hope that this helps someone else. Days are fluid and plans can be changed. Lean on Jesus for guidance and safety. I actually find that a more simple lifestyle and self sustainability is my way to be relaxed now.

The coop wasn’t the problem. I decided to open the coop to see if they wanted to get out for just a little bit and did not realize that the wind chill was 35-50 below. My rooster stayed out the longest and got frost bit more that 2 of the others. It’s just a small place on the the 2, but my largest rooster got his waddles bitten pretty good. I could have used vasoline to protect them, but really didn’t think that in the short tome that they were out, that there would be a problem. I know to use hay and have vents higher then the chickens. Just didn’t realize the wind chill. Wondered if I should treat the black spots. Thanks for replying. 💙💛🙏
