I see it as a feel good item. If you believe in it … use it, but only for a short time.
I would elect to use it in the gas can and not the equipment.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no gas that is 100% …. All gas has ethanol. Ethanol damages your engine (carburetor).
You will always end up with some of whatever the previous customer last pumped.
Gasoline intentionally has a short shelf life …. 30 days.
Laws do not allow but a limited amount of gasoline to be both transported and stored.

The American people; majority of, have always been fighters and a people that tolerate a lot.
What is different now compared to 60 years ago is a natural inevitability change that started then, and too until recently to be like all things I. America … tolerated. Media back then as it does today attempts to highlight the worse of the worse (often bad) and never the good. Even during the times of our founding fathers did interracial relationships exist. These things are manipulated (kept out) from our history books usually by a small number of people. Take the democrats of today: they have the most control over our society because they worked at it for decades. Democrats historically have been and still are evil. Democrats attempt to rewrite history (dishonest history). Democrats promote fighting among us. Many Blacks truly are ignorant of the true story of slavery. Few realize Whites were the first slaves and when Blacks finally came along many were sold by others Blacks. Many Blacks held Black slaves. It was Whites that freed the slaves.
So today isn’t really better than the history of America and in many ways it is worse. There are still great people as there always been. Thing never really change …. They are just a little different.

Some things men and women align with. I; a man, align with your way of thinking and not your husband. So we can be very alike.
Consider starting a local Reuse Drop Zone. This would work best in the countryside. Find a local in the community were folks can drop off stuff they can no longer use, and pick up stuff they can for free.
You may think that this being a free for the picking it may make your husband’s collecting need and save quest an even bigger problem. Maybe, or maybe it won’t?
