I was one of those people who had to be on antibiotics numerous times a year. the sooner I got on them, the better. I also had to be on them for a minimum of 3 weeks each time! It was hard to get a doctor to prescibe 3 weeks worth,, except for when I consistently had the same doctor. when I lost my job and my health insurance, I was on my own. I discovered Oil of Oregano. the bronchitis that I would have for about 4 weeks at a time, which took 3 to 4 weeks of antibiotics to get over and I had it on average 6 times a year for many years was healed in a matter of days with the use of oil of oregano. I would take some at the first sign of feeling ill and at most I was sick a week, but did not end up with bronchitis. I have since looked into other herbal formulas. I no longer use any pharmaceuticals. I just wish I had a medical professional who I could go to for advice sometimes, for both myself and my animals.

We are in Northern CA and still harvesting everything. Only our sweet corn is finished. the hard part is processing it all. I have tubs of tomatoes, peppers, green beans, melons, onions, garlic, summer squash and all sorts of herbs to get dehydrated and canned. I still have more of everything to harvest as well as millet and tomatillos. Winter crops need to be planted too. Oh and carrots, But they can stay in the ground a bit longer.

I think you pretty much nailed it. I love your reference to “buffalo hunt”! We have been getting to “practice” power outages for several years. They say it is because of fire danger from the wind. Fortunately I have been preparing since I first learned about history in elementary school a long time ago and in another country. So I am cooking a chicken we butchered a few days ago in a solar oven as we speak. We are still working on some more expensive items. We will get there.
