I have always had a strong interest in gardening and the simple life. Now that I am officially retired, I finally am able to live the way I have always wanted, but not in the place I would like. I live in a city on about 1 acre. When I moved here this area was not part of the city. Now we have to abide by city rules. We are making the best of it. We currently are raising ducks and chickens for eggs and meat and grow most of our vegetables with plenty to spare for family, bribe the neighbors and to barter or donate. I would like to raise pigs, but for now we buy our beef, pork and goat meat from local farmers. I love making things myself. I am vaccine injured and can no longer do all the things like I would like to, but when push comes to shove, I have the knowledge and can make do.
