Wow this looks great. I could sew my left over tule material to the size I want. I just have to find something to add as Trays. I thought about my Excalibur trays but I would like to keep them freed up since I use it so much. I wonder if old picture frames with screen wood work. Just need larger picture frames. Something to think about.

I have one that likes outdoors, however, he likes doing lawn work and not so much gardening. He is coming around a little more when I show him how my potted plants are doing. Hes amazed at how many peppers are coming up. He is now asking id we need to gather clippings for compost. So yes showing and being excited over your growing accomplishments starts to rub off on others slowly. Get excited in what you do and it will carry over. Happiness is contagiuos

I’m glad you posted about Freeze drying. My daughter has been contemplating it for sometime. I just asked her a week ago about going in on half. I didnt realize that humidity plays a big factor in these. We live in a high humidity area. I can and dehydrate with no issues so I’m glad I read this post. Thank you for the udate. Its something to think about before purchasing.

I love the idea. I just started raising chickens and we came up with a nice tunnel for our girls using scrap materials. Our next addition will be just using wire bend over like a circle that will have plenty of room for our girls to walk around without threat of stray dogs etc. We lock them up at night incase some critter manages to break in. I cant remember the name of the person on utube that showed their chicken tunnel. She states that since the chickens are able to go around the garden they keep away many bugs from the garden area. So that is ehere I got the idea of chicken tunnels.

Ill be excited to see more ideas on homesteading. Since we are retired from construction we are lucky enough to know how to build structures without too many problems.

Im glad I read this because I have been rotating my bleach so it wont expire. Ill definitely get some pool chlorine powder instead of carrying around a small bottle of bleach like I have been for emergency. The powder will be a lot easier to carry and store. Thank you for the article.

I have been purifying water using bleach for sometime. If you’re afraid of the bleach taste you dont have to worry. After the bleach,( which is a very small amount depending on the size you’re purifying) will become tasteless around 24 to 48 hours. I carry a small bottlr of bleach in backpack or bugout bag, so if needed I only have to put a drop in a 10oz water bottle. It works if you just dont have any other source of purifying.

You know we are wanting to get with a group of homesteaders/preppers. Before all this mess started getting worse with gas, economy, etc., we were prepping and fine tuning some of our necessary skills of survival, just not as much as we do now. I sold my house and we bought a camper with all the intention of buying small piece of land somewhere that we could work. Im a retired Nurse(LPN) and construction. My boyriend of 9 years was a Construction business owner for over 35 years now retired. We thought with all we know to do we could find property close to people who felt like we do. That is tough to find these days. So now we figured if we can’t buy what we’re looking for then maybe we could rent a small piece of property and we could help with the chores, prepping etc. It has been hard trying to find such a situation.

I like your idea of upcycling. I too like to figure out ways of revamping something old to new. That is great idea. So many things can be remade into more useful things. It isnt new but I like to take y fabric scraps very small to larger sizes and turn them into “new” material to use later. It saves money when you think about all the scraps people normLly throw away because theyre too small to make anything else. Great 💡 that you asked for
