We maintain the right of way as well. It’s the simplest way to make sure it’s not sprayed. They even told us that we could plant what we wanted to there. Not that we do. But it is extra space to plant when needed

My girls slow down when it’s massively hot here. We have 110-115 heat index’s right now. They cut down on feed and increase their water consumption. I don’t know where you are but it’s normal during excessive heat. And we have lots of heat from now till october ish. Not to mention that at two years old they don’t produce as many eggs as they did at 1 year olds

I’m having the same trouble with my pickling cucumbers. The ones in the greenhouse and the big garden. The other cucumbers are fine.

I put my shade cloth up almost immediately. We have unbearable heat already and not enough rain to even mention. If your already in a drought I would put it up just to try and keep moisture in the ground

They all survived thank goodness. No rain for a couple of days. They have shelter. But it was raining so hard that we got 3 inches overnight. I was afraid they would get washed into flood. With our 90 degree weather. They are not to young and being fully feathered

It’s hard to answer this question. I am assuming you are referring to harvesting seeds. You have to let them dry but not so dry they break open. The time frame is completely different for every region.

Grazon has been the problem with bought soil and compost since last year. It doesn’t break down in animals gut and is in the fecal matter of the animals that eat the hay. No one knows how long it hangs around I was under the impression that beans and nightshades were mostly affected by it. But I’m no expert

Oh yes. My herbs have not bolted yet and things are still green and thriving. I’m in the gulf coastal area of mississippi and our heat and humidity is killer here. I used a 70% shade cloth and have a small fan blowing in it 24/7. I will be buying more shade cloth just for my big garden next year. Well worth the money in my opinion

I know this post is old but thought I would reply. They didn’t have ac back in the early days of preserving food. I had sealed jars after sitting in a storage shed for a year. As long as the jar is sealed the food is safe. I have meat on the shelf I did in 2021 and it’s perfectly safe to eat. Just get a book for canning to make sure you can it for the proper amount of time. I don’t follow the recipe in the books but they do help inspire me sometimes. I started with ground meat to see if we liked it. If you don’t like the end product you won’t eat it.
