Good to know you got yours from Florida, mine came from Maine. I was thinking that those plant cuttings were acclimated to the cooler temps and therefore didn’t do so well in my zone.

I love comfrey, tried growing it in pots without success. So I make my oil from purchased dried herb and EVOO. It gets used quite often. Comfrey heals small cuts and abrasions quickly. Also very good on cold sores.

Very good information Deb. My husband and I live about 45 minutes from the coast in Texas and yes we get hurricanes too where we are at. My husband is the the bear in prepping for the storms, we go through our supplies every year before hurricane season. Sometimes times we don’t them the extra supplie but when we do we’re very thankful that we have them.

Too bad there are so many people out there that are like the grasshopper in the story of the ant and the grasshopper.

Amendment: Not necessarily Blue Kote, but a spray-on something of that nature, it’s less stressful and easier for the animals.

You should never use comfrey on an open wound, it will heal/close the wound too fast, not letting it heal from the inside out. Allowing the possibility of infection to set in. You can smear some comfrey around the edges to help with soreness, better to use Blue Kote from TSC to help dry and heal the wound.
