Since this was first brought up I have been contemplating if I would become a seller or buyer, or neither or both. Like others, I would prefer to buy/sell/trade with/support like-minded folks here than anywhere else. I can see the possibilities, but as others have said, it could get both messy and complicated. I vote for simple, free and straightforward. Other than many years ago selling some vintage china and a few other items on eBay, I have not been a seller and have never had a storefront. Paying fees or setting up something elaborate probably wouldn’t make sense for me, but being able to tell folks here if I have something to offer, and find potential buyers or someone to trade with has appeal. Thanks for the possibilities and all you’ve provided here. It’s truly a blessing.

I’ve ordered from several of the places listed in this thread over the years, but didn’t see a few companies I’ve also had good results with, so I’ll toss them and a few others that I have catalogs from (but have no direct experience with yet) into the ring for anyone who wants to check them out:
MIGardener (dot com). They’re a great inexpensive source and their selection has grown every year and even includes live plants (berries, asparagus and more). They finally raised their seed price from $1/packet to $2/packet this year, but it’s still a good deal because you get approximately the same amount of seeds that you would from the more expensive places, and the shipping is free for orders of $12 and up; they’re a family/Christian-owned small business. Seeds ‘n Such is one I came across this past year and their catalog has had a couple of things that were hard to find elsewhere (they have one of the larger selections of nasturtium varieties I’ve found). <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>FastGrowingTrees (dot com); I ordered my mango trees from them and they were high quality trees that were exceptionally well packaged. WellSpringGardens (dot com), has good quality live plants; they’re a little pricey and the selection changes seasonally. StrictlyMedicinalSeeds (dot com) has a great selection including some unusual items and live plants. <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Gurneys (dot com), is pricey, but the quality is usually good.
Then there’s <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>AnniesAnnuals (dot com), and I think their catalog is set up by categories like pollinators, native plants and others, etc. TheStoutBrothers (dot com) has been mentioned by a couple of YT homesteaders, but I haven’t ordered anything from them. I think they mostly sell trees, and ship nationwide. <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color); background-color: var(–bb-content-background-color);”>Logees (dot com), <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color); background-color: var(–bb-content-background-color);”>FarmerSeed (dot com), <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color); background-color: var(–bb-content-background-color);”>4SeasonsNurseries (dot com), and <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color); background-color: var(–bb-content-background-color);”>eBurgess (dot com); I was not impressed with the one order I did with them, but could be due to my geography/zone? They have some unusual items that I hadn’t seen elsewhere, and I’ve been tempted to try them one more time, but what I ordered was not particularly well packaged and the live plant quality was not nearly as good as some other places I’ve done business with (their supplies were okay and reasonably prices). If you try them out be sure to keep the packaging the order arrives in because that is the key to getting a refund, replacement or doing a return. Read the fine print. I wasn’t impressed with their business practices, so let the buyer beware.

If anyone here knows a good </font>source<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>, please let me know. Burgess is one of the companies that advertises at least four or five different colors in their catalog, but I’m hesitant to try them again and hope to find another source that’s recommended by someone directly. Thanks.</font>

I had an odd instance last month where a business claimed to have tried using my credit card (that I earn dollar reward points on) three different times and on different processing stations/registers, and said it would not work and was declined. No problem. I paid cash and went on my way. I called the credit card company shortly thereafter and asked if there was a fraud alert or some issue that prevented the transaction from going through. It was not a large amount. The rep said they showed no record of me even attempting to use my card that day. That seemed strange, but I chalked it up to the possibility that it could have been a glitch of the equipment at the business source. Didn’t think much of it till reading this thread. Now I can’t help but wonder …
The second issue I’ve experienced is that recently (past couple of weeks maybe), certain of my rechargeable batteries (that are not very old) on portable camera monitors don’t seem to want to charge, or charge fully/properly. I have to unplug and plug them back in multiple times a day to keep them showing a charge, and it’s now less likely a full charge. Otherwise when I unplug them, they’re basically empty, and not charged at all, showing a red light, or barely charged and don’t last more than a few minutes before the green light turns to red. If it was on just one, I might think it was a battery going bad, but it’s on both units and started at the same time. Any theories? I’ve wondered if it could be from effects of the sun or electromagnetic issues. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?
The third thing I’ve noticed is that people I know seem to be having a challenging time regulating their frequency to eat (compared to before). Seems that folks who had a full, regular meal would eat four to six hours later. Now those same people are hungry and eating only an hour-and-a-half or two hours after a full meal. Again, I’ve wondered if it could be related to electromagnetic fields, the sun or even if the new tech like five-gee is being pulsed in experiments to impact/affect people or their behaviors? Anyone notice anything like that?
Maybe it is “just me?”

Hi Mart. Please elaborate on what tree hay is and where it can be purchased/obtained (seeds or live plants)—and will it be food for chickens and quail as well as other animals? Thanks!

I grow herbs inter-planted with my other greens and try to add something new or even unusual every year. So far I have traditional sage, pineapple sage (which was new this year and I’m delighted that it has bloomed in fall and now so far into winter, which has drawn hummingbirds, and I try to keep plants they will benefit from, and didn’t know it would bloom when most everything else was gone, except my nasturtiums), rosemary, thyme, dill, lemon balm, stinging nettle, lime balm, spearmint (had peppermint in the past too, but prefer the other), garlic chives, regular chives and maybe be forgetting a few others. I think I will try the toothache plant this spring. I’m planning on adding yarrow then as well (in pots). If I had more room I would like to have others. Any suggestions for herbs that would do well in grow bags or containers are welcome. I am out of room in my limited raised bed space.

How much zucchini? I didn’t see it on the list of ingredients.

Both Dr. Mercola and Children’s Health Defense has done many reports and written several articles on lab created meat, including one titled “Lab Created Meat: Investors Love It, But Scientists Question Safety” by Martha Rosenberg on June 27, 2022. Here’s a link to a key word search on CHD’s site: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/?s=lab+created+meat. Dr. Mercola only leaves his articles up for 48 hours now due to censorship, so you’d have to search his substack archive to find his. He talks about how it’s created with a lot of junk and questionable things including the bad fats that he claims are the primary issue with the poor health of Americans these days, etc. Might be worth checking out.

Hi Mart. I saw that another food processing plant burned over the weekend. I’ve never heard of this gentleman, but I’ll check out his video when I get some time. Thanks. Blessings!

Thanks! Looks like a great resource. Much appreciated. Hope you two are doing well and finally able to breathe a bit and relax after such a busy and challenging time. My to-do list seems to always run longer than my time or energy to accomplish things. Just have to keep plugging along one item at a time while praying for wisdom and insight about how to prioritize (and re-prioritize). Hope you have a wonderful month and a Merry Christmas!

Hi Julie,
I am also just starting to try and understand this after hearing bits and pieces here and there. Curtis Stone did a whole series on it specifically related to Canada that I saw a few snippets of quite a while back. He mentioned that the U.S. is pretty much the same (at least in concept, so hearing him could give insight to us). There are keys to understanding it and how to overcome obstacles. I think his series was called Liberty on the Land, and it may be on one of his YT-alternative channels as well as his subscription service (YT started censoring him too heavily).
The gist of what I got from the little I saw was that it’s primarily related to how the various countries incorporated and became companies (even registered on the stock exchanges) at points in the past, and that changed everything related to Constitutional issues/freedoms and the like, and much compliance, or maybe all, of it was then voluntary on our part (out of ignorance) because we don’t read the laws and statutes and understand the remedies that are available to us within them. If we only knew. He found in fighting some of his own battles and helping some friends that there are always remedies within each law/statute and we just have to understand them in order to avail ourselves of them and extricate ourselves from the system/traps, etc.
I have only picked up parts of this along the way, and never had the time to really dig into it, but it seems more and more these days we live in may require us to educate ourselves in order to survive the never-ending onslaught. I will be checking out the links suggested in these discussions, as I have time. I hope folks with more time and knowledge will post what they learn so we don’t all have to duplicate each other’s efforts. If I discover anything, I’ll post an update. Some of us have far less time and too many responsibilities and topics to research to dive deeply into very many, let alone each one. Many hands make light work, so it would be great to have a shared information knowledge bank on this site of quality data from people who know or have done deeper research, along with posted links and resources, but that may just be wishful thinking on my part. I hope you’ll share if you learn anything.
Blessings, Kim

Someone mentioned taurine (sorry, can’t remember who/where; so many posts, so little time). I am now starting to research that as well. If anyone else knows about it or other helpful non-prescription items, sources/links are greatly appreciated. Thanks. 🙂

I believe so. I have had to join various groups in order to participate in the discussions. It could have changed as they have refined the site, but that has been my experience so far.
