I find the long handled cultivator the most efficient for “re-piling” when working with chicken composting systems. I use a manure fork for non-chicken rapid compost piles where I’m doing all the turning so I can control where each fork of material goes during the turning (top to bottom, outer to inner).

I’ve signed up but have not finished the online course from Rosemary Gladstar. I really like her approach and have benefited personally from some herbs.

Thank you so much! I didn’t realize how many people suffer from gastrointestinal issues. I so appreciate people like you who share different ways they were able to cure/elevate health issues.

Thank you again and have a wonderful day! 😁

Hi Angespag, Kevin here. Sorry I didn’t make any plans for this stove build. Nothing fancy just improvised based on materials at hand and previous rocket stoves I’ve played with. Also wanted stove to be easily transportable (hoping to do a crab boil on the coast someday). A few key components to this build in my opinion:

    – Inner “fire pan” is just a metal oil drain pan with air holes drilled around base.

    – “Chimney” is metal dryer duct. Connect to can by making “*” shaped cut, bend tabs out, slide duct over for friction fit.

    – Cauldron/Pot needs flange of some type to rest on trash can lid rim. (Hole cut to appropriate size). The Korean Gamasote is designed this way, but maybe a food service stainless steel pot would work. If excessive smoke leaks from under flange (gets in your eyes), try fiberglass rope gasket used for woodstove/fireplace insert doors.

I think this concept has a lot of potential. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

    Thank you so much! πŸ˜„

My husband built the stove around my gamasote based on the rocket stove design. He didn’t have a plan; he just built it. He’s just really good at making things. I’ll ask him if he can answer your question. Have a wonderful weekend!

I completely agree! I just told them I’ll take as many bones as they can give and we were floored. We had a hard time making room in our freezer. πŸ˜† I have to make more bone broth soon. It’s wonderful problem to have.

Plus, the beef is so much better when you get it from a local rancher, processed just days before you pick them up.

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing. You must have a lot of discipline to eat so strictly. So glad the carnivore diet is working for you. I am trying to eat a lot cleaner, more whole foods. I don’t have many vices but I do like sugar. That seems to be my worst enemy. πŸ˜…

I know Dr. Ken Berry will be at the Self Reliance Festival in TN in a few weeks. I’ve heard Nicole Sauce on LFTN talk about the carnivore diet. We are really wanting to attend. Going to TN from Portland, OR is a big investment for us. But, we might suck it up and go so we can meet people and learn. We are still considering since we actually want to move to TN this year. Have’t decided yet. 😁

We just use organic mung beans, soy beans, barley, etc. from our local Korean grocery store. πŸ˜€ We are careful to make sure they’re labeled organic, and are not too old.

Haven’t heard of TrueLeaf but I’ll check them out. Thanks!

Yum! Great ideas. Haven’t tried them in omelets yet, I’ll have to try that. Hope the weather is kind to you in WY today! πŸ‘

That’s awesome an awesome mix of sprouts! Do you eat them as salad or add them to other recipes? πŸ˜ƒ

Wow, my wife and I would find zone 3a challenging! 😁 We moved from AZ (9b) to OR (8b) and now looking towards TN or surrounding (6-ish). Also impressed that you eat sprouts daily, great nutrition! How do you grow yours? You must have a pretty dialed in process. πŸ‘

Love the idea of a sprouted wheat/barley salad! We’ve done a soaked wheat berry with grapes “salad”, but your’s sounds much better! 😁 Thanks for the idea. Have a great day!
