Has anyone tried using a hybrid kratky/wicking bed system for seed starting? It’s what I’m thinking of using this year. Instead of using rapid rooter plugs in the cups I’m thinking of using peat pots with soil. Does that sounds reasonable for seed starting?

Love the new App. I also made sure to leave a 5 star review.

Just finished my first Kratky beds, I plan to use what I learn to create an indoor seed starting system, Then work on growing my handyman business, and finally get started on starting my youtube channel.

I love the comments on Baker Seeds in the video. Jack Spirko referred to Baker Seeds as his crack dealer a while back, and I totally agree.

Too many of my conspiracy theories have come true in the last 15 years.

Hi, I’m Jeremy from North Texas. I was happy to meet you at the last Self Reliance Festival. I’m currently an Operations/Finance guy in the Financial Services industry. I’ve been learning to garden this year, and am about to build my first Kratky style hydroponics system. I’m also a part-time handy man and love to build and fix things with my daughter. I’m currently in the suburbs but I am looking to acquire some land in Tennessee in the next couple of years or so. Some place with nice rolling hills and good hiking nearby.

Like tomorrow I’m going to Harbor Freight to pick up an angle grinder and some tarps. I don’t them right now, but I can see myself using them in the near future. Also I like to get useful books, like books on canning, gardening, fixing things, etc.

What a great idea. I’d love to do the same thing.

I’m lucky enough to have a Half-Price Books location close to me and I try to go in there every couple of weeks to see if I can find anything useful. Also I check for when the local libraries have sales.
