Yesfall is afoot in NE Alabama also! Just took a long walk with the dogs and found some turkey tail and oyster mushrooms.

It’s finally cool enough to havesome baby (kits) rabbits born, so that’s great. The ducks and guineas are still laying eggs.

I’m still getting okra and tomatoes (I love volunteer plants! ) and the Cherokee tan pumpkins are getting ripe. Still getting hot peppers and raspberries, waiting on 2 watermelons and the louffa to be ready.

Thanking God for all he’s done. We finally got rain again and it feels and sounds so good!

I found Deep South Homestead years ago, while entertaining moving out of WA state and getting back to basics.

I now live in Scottsboro, Alabama.

I could really use the Alexa Pure Water pitcher.

Plant the hottest mustard seeds you can find, not necessarily the ones you’d eat. Plant them thick. Let them bloom but not go to seed. Cut them down and till into the soil.

I wonder if putting wrigglies juicy fruit gum in their tunnels would work. It’s an old time one for moles… they eat it and get balled up inside and die.
