I wish I had more insight to give you. CCC above pretty much said it all. My suggestion is start smaller, learn as many different skills as you can and never stop learning. Gardening teaches me many new lessons each and every year. Raising animals, I personally would start small as well and go with goats/sheep and range down to chickens and quail with rabbits in the mis as well. Good luck with your plans and keep us posted on the progress.

I’m not sure if it will help, but I made a change in my gardens this year, (then mother nature intervened). I moved everything so that the afternoon/evening sun will not hit it, seems to be helping a lot. I got the idea from DeepSouth Homestead and it seems to be helping. Although the drought after all the rain is sending me backwards.

Look on Youtube for ” Old Alabama Gardener” He has a recipe for this on his page and I follow it. God rest his soul he passed a while back, but his page is still up. Fine chop or crush, as long as it’s fresh’ Check it out and see what you think. There is also a plethora of videos on just about any topic you could want. I learned a lot from him and really miss him.

Muscadines are a good option, or you could run strings up and get cucumbers or certain melon types to grow up it.

It’s not just food. THEY want control of everything in our day to day lives. Give an inch and they’ll take it all.

Not going to say it’s not possible. Finding the correct size will be the trick. And as far as washers to use. We use copper washers to seal airlines.

Have to agree. Trace them from gasket material and use. maybe adding a bit of red silicone to get a good seal.
