Charcoal! Will draw out and neutralize the poison. I keep charcoal capsules that I can break open and form into a paste for external use. Can take internally if you think you’ve ingested toxins.

Not sure of your zone, here in Florida, I’m planting okra, sweet potatoes and sunn hemp. They all like it hot.

  • Isn’t the whole premise of Back to Eden and Paul Gautachi’s method based on using wood chips? And the first rule of permaculture is no bare dirt. I’ve spent the past year hauling wood chips around the entire property from the piles that a tree service drops off. I’ve seen a difference already in the water absorption and it’s actually building infrastructure into my sandy Florida soil. I’m a believer!

When I have holey socks, I cut the foot part off and store the remaining part in my med kit to hold bandages on arm or leg of both human and animal. Used one just this week with a scrape on my arm, used salve and wrapped in gauze, then held gauze in place with old sock sleeve. Socks are relatively cheap to replace and I try to balance cheap and frugal. Hope that helps.

Time to make a pitcher of margaritas! If you don’t drink, I’d juice them and keep juice in fridge. You can use the juice as you would lemon juice. Squeeze over seafood or add a bit to flavor rice. Take left over rinds and pulp, put in jar, fill the vinegar and set in pantry for a month to make lime vinegar for cleaning. The gift of a dozen limes should not be wasted.

This is part of the danger of CBDC centralized digital currency – every transaction will be tracked.

Full disclosure, I’m a book junkie and have schlepped my books all over the country and continue to collect – I’m paranoid enough to have hard copies of history, reference and some favorites- that said, I also have several gigs of books on my e reader. Much easier to store and contain (until SHTF) also am on first name basis with the local librarians.😉

I source from multiple places b/c I have a seed addiction. San Diego Seed Co is good for me cause although on the west coast, they are my zone and I can usually grow what they grow. Also buy a good deal from Baker Creek and Botanical Interests. I want to try Hoss Co this year as well. After that I’ll probably start a seed addiction support group 😂

  • I’ve ordered it.

I’ve been watching those videos of Flow Hive and it’s intriguing. Very expensive though, so I need first hand info before purchasing.

I’m in west central Florida and jokingly call our place “Fire Ant Ranch”. They are HORRIBLE! Only thing that really takes care of them is too toxic to use around our animals and myself. This summer I was bitten so badly that the top of my foot looked like I had monkeypox!

Trim wings (one side only so they are unbalanced to fly) once a year after they molt and feathers grow back in. As to the rooster – if you have 15 hens, he can probably handle things but if you go over that, he might become overwhelmed, especially as he ages. Life’s a series of experiments. Relax and enjoy it. 😉

I wish the Schoolhouse Rock videos would play today – it would give kids a chance to learn some civics and grammar instead of the bullshit that is taught in schools.
