Just a quick mention – anyone on pharmaceuticals should NOT compost or water plants unless they want the contamination of the chemicals in their drugs on their gardens.

I can go along with only BUYING locally produced in July, but I have produce coming from Azure Standard next weekend and I’ll be eating that in July so it doesn’t spoil. I already source my beef, pork, chicken, honey, eggs, milk, most veg (everyone grows red potatoes, so if I want bakers i have to look elsewhere) & some fruit locally…could source turkey, lamb, goat, etc. if I ate those things. The only thing is, we can’t grow rice around here (only wild rice), many of the spices, blackberries, that sort of thing…but for one month I can go without those things.

I agree with what someone else said, looks like shepherd’s purse. Take a bite of a leaf…if it’s the most vile thing you’ve ever tasted, it’s shepherd’s purse! Has medicinal value…tastes absolutely awful!

What the heck – I never got that email! And nothing shows on their website either – I should know, I’m working on my order and, since I only order 2-3 times/year I’ve been in & out of their site a lot as I think of things to add…then tweak because the total is getting too high.

I read (especially love cozy mysteries, and they say trying to solve them improves mood and mental function), I have a pen pal (of almost 19 years) who lives halfway across the country to the east, and an elderly aunt who lives halfway across the country to the west, that I write to (actual letters), I have two siblings who don’t live close that I email, and I have two friends that share a homesteading mindset that I see every month or two, and keep in touch with more often via phone or email. I also learn about things that interest me, either via vlog/blog or by reading books. I go for walks. I used to have a dog, but told myself she would be my last, so now I’m dogless. Although I don’t really enjoy time in the kitchen, I do try to do more cooking, and there’s always canning/dehydrating/fermenting to do, as well as preparing natural remedies. By nature I am both a home body and a loner, so it generally isn’t an issue for me, but those are the things that keep my mind occupied.

I made beef jerky in my Excalibur dehydrator for Christmas giving. Years ago I made it in one of those old circular dehydrators with the bottom motor, which required rotating trays, but did work if you kept an eye on it. After watching Heidi at Rain Country Homestead, I will be expanding my dehydrating capacity with Cosori, which costs less but seems to work as well as Excalibur. Also watch Heidi if you would like to learn how to get a result very similar to freeze-dried without having to invest in a freeze dryer. Keep in mind that freeze dryers dry things to a crisp, and you generally want jerky to be chewy, so you would most likely want to use a dehydrator in making it.

I found this on gardenershq.com. Note that they can be hardy annuals, hardy biennials, or perennials – so the answer might become “it depends”. (and I’m having trouble getting the ‘photo’ to add, so we’ll see)

You’ve obviously never tasted my cooking! I don’t really use recipes, whatever is on hand, if it seems like it might work with other flavors, gets added. I’m definitely in a food rut, eating the same few things over & over…and since I don’t like doing dishes I’m a big fan of “one dish wonders”.

Since this post I’ve ordered & received…first thing I noticed, at the top of their homepage, was a statement about the new payment method…so I guess they did notify me, just in a round about way. Second thing was, when I went to the payment section, my credit card information was all still there & correct. I suppose it’s the usual…when something new starts, there’s always debugging to be done.

Nothing in my junk folder. I even checked my deleted folder, in case I’d mis-clicked when deleting something. Nothing anywhere.

My account does NOT show an open order, ever, unless I am actively adding things to an order. Maybe you should contact Azure and ask them if they can fix that issue, mentioning that perhaps that’s why their system erroneously placed an order on your account.

I was signed in again this afternoon, trimming down my order to stay on budget…and I was logged in to my email just a few minutes ago. Still haven’t seen anything.

bakersgreenacres has a few videos about knowing the constitution and bringing in the sheriff to defend against federal overreach…if you get a good sheriff willing to do his job & defend the rights of the people in his jurisdiction.

Looks like you’re paying about $10 for one ounce; Azure Standard sells it for $24 per pound, only ingredient is organic stevia leaf powder. You can go to their site, azurestandard.com, and see if they have a drop site near you…or you can order and have delivered to you…in either case there will be S&H, but I think savings that huge are going to cover the expense.
