My thoughts are, and I have taken heat from them in the past. First I think that crypto is a a way to switch new people looking to hedge their long term wealth away from tangible assets like gold and silver, and even property(which is a whole other conversation in its self) as a way to manipulate the value of said hard assets. And break new people from the habit of long term generational wealth creation and protection.
That leads me into my second thought and again, there will be a whole lot of people explain to me that I know not what I say. I personally think that crypto exists right now only because the big “G” government hasn’t gotten around to where they don’t like it unless they control it. I think that once it starts to effect their bottom line or the much talked about government approved digital currency comes on-line they will start to criminalize it or just tax it enough to make it untenable. And do you really think that out current cabal for instance is not capable of declaring anyone that uses digital currency a domestic terrorist?
Now I readily agree that I may just be old enough that I don’t trust this new fangled thing. I also may have to participate in it as what I hope is the underground economy expands. For now I won’t ever have anymore in it that I think I can afford to lose though, that however should be the advice for most everything.
I hope everyone has a great day

On the same vain as the beans and rice. Buy the one year package of storage food and you are set. See Venezuela where I read about a guy that had two years of food that he ran out of years ago. Ops. Or the garden in a can that has not taken in account your growing conditions or dietary needs.
Countering it is hard because most people want the No work fix and or they don’t want to think about the possibility of you know, bad. I really like teaching the tried and true method of by extra of what you eat with mini goals like get an extra month ahead.
And the gateway drug of a fresh tomato

Thank you to everyone that’s commented so far. Lots of great tips. FYI I decided to overwinter it with all my wife’s trees till the spring. I figured it has been in the pot for about two years already an other 6 months won’t probably hurt it any.

My first this year was to do all my own starts. 6 varieties of tomato, 7 pepper and 6 egg plant. As well as many different herbs. It was very rewarding and allowed me to grow much better varieties that actually taste good. I am already organizing to increase my output to do a bit of yard sales this spring.

Bill here in Bellevue Nebraska zone 5B most years. I am an urban gardener packing as much growing space into my side yard as possible much to the dismay of my neighbors. I know most are homestead focused but I see more than a few are like me in an urban environment to now and I want to encourage that as much as possible. I have been hobby gardening for years, but went really serious three years ago. Now I am focused on more sustainable practices that are applicable to the urbanite and that lead me to permaculture and all the wonderful people Like Nicole and Billy.
If you are in the greater metro of Bellevue and want/need help getting started you can DM me.
Have a great day all

I have never built a buyout bag but for all the years I worked on a military base I had a get home/ not going to go hungry bag. I figured at some point I may get stuck on base and there where no provisions made to feed thousands of civilians. I also knew several different ways to get off base without permission and had the things I needed to do that.
I still carry it when I am around town and If someday I have to shoe Leather it home.

Can’t agree enough that no one should let anyone you care about join up at this time. They threw me to the curb after over 44 years of service over an illegal order.
As far as what to look out for I think the the election if it goes the way everyone thinks will bring back Antifa in spades. They haven’t gone away, they have been reorganizing, training and expanding. They are still getting millions of black money and are more dangerous than you think.

MemberNovember 4, 2022 at 9:02 pm in reply to: This is How the World Ends, This is How the World Ends….Good question and not an easy one to answer. I do know that we used to do it in the past and very successfully at that. And making money in general is not a bad thing. As Morrissey once said in an interview “I can’t think of a time in my life when having money was a bad thing”. I do think that’s there is a thought that it can be done ethically which is a different conversation.
I keep thinking that educating on how local can benefit the whole is a thing but people are addicted to the Walmart. Perhaps identifying what can be done locally and is needed and rebuild local. Like I said though it’s tough one and I need to really give it more though.
Have a great day

MemberNovember 4, 2022 at 7:30 pm in reply to: This is How the World Ends, This is How the World Ends….Absolutely. The one world, out sourcing, just in time delivery, has put the globe in a tough spot. It’s beyond stupid to take raw materials from one continent ship it thousands of miles to an other to be processed, only to be shipped back. Now I not talking about trade. That’s a different ball of wax. I am talking about sending whole chickens to China to be processed and then shipped back to stores within miles of were they were slaughtered in order to save 20 cents. Or even worse, send minerals to processed so the pollution is cause there.
You would think that we learned are lesson in the past few years

It’s a constant work in progress as I drill down to what works. I am just hoping I can pass on some inspiration like you and your cadre of friends have done for me.
Have a great day.

Good afternoon. I was the first sign up at Nebraska. What you find is that the greater Omaha metropolitan area is a very strange zone of extreme normality bias. I keep trying though. Thanks for means to do so.
Have a great day

Yes. Also it started as GAB thing to differentiate between a classical liberal (almost a unicorn these days) and the radical left.

Fair point, I tend to use leftists as a collective noun that encompasses those seeking to destroy individual rights and freedoms. For sure there is a significant population of evil ideology that just wants power over everyone that will subscribe to anything that get them that.
