This is what Billy told me when I asked
It might. The only thing I know for sure is that it works on deer and rabbits. People of told me that it has worked on a number of other things but I haven’t personally tested it for that.

I dunno, bears like stinky dead things. It might prove to be too much of a temptation for a hungry bear!

In wolf phase, yes. The human will whip out their smartphone and try googling different scents to figure out what they’re smelling.

It does not work on black bears. I put it all over my coup which is wood. So far this year I’ve had 6 bears. We do have a lot of bears here… too many. This has been a strange year as far as predators attacking my chickens. Raccoons, possums, hawk, foxes, bears and one dog. I’ve lost about 7 chickens and 2 rooster since spring. It does work for deer very well. Last year 100%. But this year I had to keep applying it.

So far, it doesn’t work on bear‘s… but I am working on a bear formula. The only problem is getting access to the bones of a bear in order to make it.

I might have you a mess of black bear bones this fall. We are planning on getting two bears once the season opens. We have way too many black bears on our ridge. I’ll email you so I can get instructions on what you need.

If you come up with that bear formula, I’ll be first on the purchase list. Have lost bees, thanks to local bears. Bear season should be coming soon to Pennsylvania. Maybe some hunters on here will have some bones for you.

That’s why I’ve been afraid to start bees. But I’m starting in the spring. One bear killed 17 Cornish X in a night when I first started my meat chickens. It’s always those young bears just thrown out from their mother too. We use electric…if they want it bad enough they will plow through. I know they are scared of dogs so maybe we need a guardian dog like Milk Boi.

Really enjoy having my bees the last five years, they are so interesting. You can always replace your hive by catching a free swarm, once you learn more about them but it is still a hard loss to see when it happens. Yes, bears pay no mind to the electric fence once they know what is there. I have my bees in a enclosed dog kennel, and they just climbed inside over the electrified fence. I have a guardian dog for myself,( no livestock). But a bear would be dangerous for one dog if it should decide to attack. He is a great watchdog and very protective, but with no fencing, I cannot leave him outdoors at night.

Isn’t it awesome when people work together to come up with a possible solution to a problem, love it!

I use Billy’s Bone Sauce. Great addition to the homestead. UNFORTUNATELY, the Bone Sauce did nothing for my Punxsutawney Phil issue this season! The only resolution from my groundhog problem was lead. They were eradicated one by one!

Thanks…Ours is a wise old varmint….can’t seem to get him trapped or a good shot at him….but he has gotten pretty fat on our butternut squash.

😂 I have one still out there that haunts me daily. I know he’s still out there limping with lead in his left ass cheek. He took out a lot of my squashes: butternut, spaghetti and one pumpkin! He’s like the chupacabra of my garden world! Next time Punxsutawney…. Next time.
