Homesteader Perspective on Preserving & Building Wealth

Building wealth is vital to the Freesteading world view. Like it or not, money makes the world go round. The ability to barter and trade drives the economy and yes, we are all subject to that.

No one will ever become 100% market independent. Even our forefathers who lived off the land had to go to town once a month for supplies.

The number one reason the “bad guys” become so powerful so quickly after every societal event, is because they jump on the money/market game following every crisis.

It’s high time we as Freesteaders turn that narrative around and finally put importance in building wealth to free ourselves of the “need” of the marketplace.

By that, I mean that if you lessen the ability of the “bad guys who serve mamon” to hold influence over you by holding all the financial cards, and make yourself financially powerful, you become freer.

Don’t be the Freesteader who has to chose between a full tank of gas and extra groceries this time. Be able to have both.

I have read a lot of these threads and they seem to follow the same path. Tangible things. Although, I can agree to a certain point, only a few have it correct. My faith in Yahwah, GOD Almighty, The One that Provides, says that wisdom is the one thing we should store. There are many stories, a wise man is like a tree planted by the waters, strong and healthy. Then the one.of the wealthy man making bigger store houses for himself and yet his soul was.required that night. Even the parable of the talents. Yes, Jesus used currency in this but did it necessarily mean money? Or was it to put to use what He has given us. I think (and I fail at this all the time) it is to use and grow what wisdom He has given us.

We all have our talents (abilities). Some financial, then teach those of us that don’t understand that aspect. Gardening, plumbing, wood working, preaching teaching, writing, etc. You get the picture. We all have some knowledge that someone else does not. Find someone that wants to learn what you know and teach them, especially the younger generation. That I think is building the wealth of the future. Just think if we had all listened to our, less knowledgeable as we thought, parents or grandparents or anyone from the older generations. How much better off would we be. Would we know how to compost, or how to plumb a house, or build something? Probably. How much trouble or heartache would it save?

I could go on and on, but I will restrain. Back to building wealth. If we invest in one or two people, who or how many could we touch in the future? I think wisdom is the key. All.else will follow. If I learn to garden, then I can eat. If I learn to build, then I can stay warm and dry. If I can learn how to travel without a GPS then I won’t get lost. Again you get the picture.

Wisdom to me in my older years is the key. Learn something, multiple your assets by teaching others and be a little less stressed knowing God is in control and is teaching us all a lot. 😃

Investing in self, and others is always a good thing.
