Just planted tomatoes. The very night they are in something is cutting the plant at the base. Doesn’t touch the leaves. Any ideas? Running out of replacement plants!

Cutworms. I wrap the stalk in a paper bag strip. Make the paper bag strip about 1 1/2 tall.

Cutworms happened. Sprinkle used coffee grounds around the base of the plants. They don’t like coffee grounds.

Cut worms feed at night. Can use a paper collar or crushed egg shells at the base of the plant.

Cut worms are the worst. When I see them I pull them off and feed them to the chickens 😂

So I have been having the same problem here too, for the last couple of years in Texas. When I went to get our lemon and lime tree, a nice gentleman there told me to plant basil plants in between the tomato plants, so far so good. I haven’t lost a plant this season.

I have wrapped aluminum foil around the base. Hope you have better success!

Need some help with a couple of our

tomato plants. The leaves just look like hard balls. Any ideas what it could be? I have a picture of it but don’t see where I can post it in here.
