Hi there. I am not on my own property and still live in an apartment. Ugh.

A little about me. I’m in east TX. Zone 8. I’m learning to can this year, Believe in being prepared but wouldn’t consider myself a prepper. I planted/experienced my 2nd garden this year. It failed but I’ll try again.

With that little bit said, I do enjoy watching you and Danny on YouTube but find myself in a quandary, I don’t know too many people in this new town and am having difficulty locating like minded people so I go where I know others are (here) doing what I want to do and do as much as I can in an apartment. People here are so clannish and do not take to new folks easily, sad.

Hi there Dee, my husband (aka Private_Cluck) and I live in east Texas in the Willis area. We may be neighbors!

    Hello,

Even if your neighbors or canny, you always have friends on this group. Keep working on the garden. I have gardened for years and this past year was an expensive fail. I will try again next year.

DeeSmith19, there’s a great master gardener in East Texas, Greg Grant. He works for Smith County, but he lives in Shelby County. You can follow him on Facebook, and he’s written several books on gardening in East Texas. Also, check with the extension office in your county about classes and presentations. That could be a great place to meet people.
