Private Groups
Will there be private groups? I have been looking for a home for my homestead group. I see the pay plan begins at $5 or $6 per month. Given the coming economy, that may be a bit rich for many homesteaders when one in every six households can’t pay their energy bill.

am guessing you’re talking about the VIP Patron Program, I too saw that and was a little disappointed at first, after all this is Freesteading. However it’s a part of this platform and you can decide to join or not. You still get to have the activity feed, forums and communities. There are cost to all platforms and it’s just one way to keep this one up and running. Great for those VIP looking for more subscribers just hope Freesteading isn’t just for Patron subscribers.

Sandra, this is the rub. As you can imagine building and running this site is super expensive. We discuss our options all the time. The activity feed , communities and forums are free. I don’t see that changing.

I suspect private groups will be behind a pay wall so I don’t care about free. I’m looking for a conservative home for my group. Mewe isn’t that place.

All, we are activity discussing this topic. Not just private groups but groups in general. I had a meeting on it this morning. I appreciate the feedback.
