And I have luffah that still needs weeks to dry out… not sure how that will go… maybe we’ll stay up all night making smudge pots, lol… sounds like fun. π

The black eyed peas are finishing up, still harvesting green beans, okra, eggplant, basil, and squash/zucchini everyday. The chickens ate my fall plant starts, so I’m starting over with those unfortunately.

I am not sure exactly when I first started watching your videos! I subscribed and watched some here and there as I started learning to garden the past few years, but one day this past year one of your videos came up and God moved so strongly to finally move me to build up reserves for our family. He moved us to our family land 2 years ago, and we are learning all we can and trying to get our homestead functioning one step at a time. Focus!!!! π
Is it weird that I felt some dismay on your live this week about not having visitors anymore… silly that I feel I know yall! Thank you for how much you bless each of us.
I’ve been praying for God to provide us with an AlexaPure for several months now, so that would be my first choice! Second choice would be the certificate for Cindi’s shop… I really enjoyed the podcast and videos with her. π
Almost forgot to say that I’m in North Texas!!

We’ve also traded kittens for raw milk, plant starts for raw milk, we traded a 5 gallon bucket of cucumbers for 2 gallons of blueberries, traded help for picking the last of the blueberries at a friend’s house free. I took a friend’s gourd harvest to the farmers market in exchange for keeping some for ourselves. We also give people a free plant start if they bring us 10 containers to reuse. My kids are always trading things we bring to market with things other vendors bring… they trade our produce, plant starts, and cut flowers for soap, honey, jam, or sweets. This past weekend I traded $30 worth of fall plant starts for peaches and pears.
We also started a local group for building up our trade/ bartering locally. For now, once a month we’ll gather and people can bring produce, meat, soaps, etc to buy/sell/trade. We’ll also take turns teaching a skill or having a class at these gatherings.

Thank you Danny. I want to thank you for always encouraging us to look to the Lord for answers. I caught myself a few weeks back getting wrapped up in a fear and scarcity mindset. We are so early in our journey. The Lord reminded me that He is the Provider, and to keep doing the work that He has given me to do and lay my anxious thoughts at His feet. All we can do is walk in obedience and faith.

Keeping things cool will be tricky here. The temp in the cellar was 72 though when it was 110 outside this summer, so that’s better than nothing. π
