    We are in the same boat and our electric bill in the winter is outrageous. Had kerosene heaters (still have one for emergency) but the soot indoors is a problem. Everything ends up with an oily film on it. Getting kerosene was a hassle as we are a good 30 mins from the town that still sells it at the pump. I’m looking at propane option – I believe it burns cleaner.
