I think we are through the worst of it. Yesterday was -11 with wind chills of -41. Today we are currently at -1 with windchill of -16. We are stocked up with wood and supplies. Best part is today we have sun after 13 strait days of overcast. We may finally be able to get the batteries full.

i have the same type of fans on my stoves. they work great. we also use the stove to heat water through coils. I would love to learn how to harness more of the energy escaping in the form of heat

Depends on the type of battery. You are correct in regards to a lead acid battery. A lithium battery you could just add another

I have a buddy that has a broken ” picker” he has a 100 percent fail rate.

Sheila, as a full-time off grid homesteader I can tell you that it is hard with 2 people. I can also tell you that you can do it alone. If I was to tackle it alone it would be a scale issue. Just start small and add things as you master the previous one. TAG
