I’m not saying it is for sure true or not, but this is a playlist of people that have tried it and it seems to have worked https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8bt_6drZB49wkl9av8Lgfcu4m8GF86LV

We got boat loads of apples last season from a friends orchard – we did dehydrated apples, apple chips, canned apple chunks, apple sauce, apple (often combined with berries) fruit leather, and apple cider too. We used all the scraps to make apple scrap vinegar, and now I have 2 5 gallon buckets of vinegar too.
I usually also take a gallon or so apple cider vinegar and add in the tops of onions and garlics when I harvest them, add some kelp and let them ferment for a few months and strain them into a bottle to add to chicken water as a health tonic for our feathered friends.

I have tried several recipes over the years, and I have discovered the family prefers plain (with maybe salt) meat canned, and then I add flavours later. I find a lot of seasonings go bitter when they are pressure canned (I find the same with crockpot cooking). So now we can plain beef, plain chicken and plain lamb.

  • we just use about 1/4 tsp of washing soda (also known as soda ash – it is white powder like baking soda but 100 times stronger) mixed with some warm water, then rinsed and followed by 1/8 c of vinegar diluted in warm water and then rinsed. I have done this for 6 years now and my hair has never been so soft and healthy.

I don’t know how I didn’t hear about this before now, but this seems to be the exact sort of social media thing I can actually get behind. So glad to see you and Billy are here too

can you retrospectively paint them? our unpainted one ended up with about 6 inches of sludge in the bottom and it would clog the tap. Since then our new ones we take the tank out of the frame, wrap in black plastic and put back in the frame, so far so good

He talks about it just in passing in a couple of his live videos, I think it is more incidental rather than a money making scheme. He also says he doesn’t know how it works, but that it has each time they try it. Who knows eh, interesting idea at least.
