20 years off grid in Alaska has made Missouri cold 🥶 not so bad! We came here prepared. We live in a house built with MO oak, started in 1871. We have wood only heat, we can cook on it also(I did all this winter). Having running water is new for us, but my son is learning about frozen pipes. 🤦♀️🤷♀️.
Don’t wear cotton! My best advice!

We do lemon peel, juniper berries and dill. I also do a second ferment with honey & apples for a sweet kraut.

Easier to can on wood. Just make a hot fire, get down to just feeding a blue fire with coals burned on a separate fire and can away!!
