I had never heard of Ron Foster’s books. They sound very good. I heard you talking about them on your last live.

One of my favorite comfort foods is a hamburger stew.

I convert anything possible from store canned goods to home canned but here’s the original recipe:

    Son-Of-A-Gun Stew

    Cook and drain grease from

    1 pound ground beef

    1/2 onion, chopped

Himalayan Salt and Pepper to taste

    Add (including liquid prom cans)

    2 cans Ranch Style Beans

    2 cans whole corn

2 cans stewed tomatoes (I often substitute 1 or both cans for Rotel)

    2 pounds frozen okra

Stir together. Ladle into jars. Add water if needed to have ratio of fluid needed. Pressure can for meat times. You can thicken after opening by simmering in a pot without a lid.

*If I’m not canning, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer so the flavors marry.

I like to make a simple salve with calendula and plantain. It’s soothing for all the minor cuts, scrapes, bug bites, etc that I encounter.

I just use oils infused with the herbs and beeswax to get the consistency I want.

I was just putting it out there so people could choose to be cautious if they felt the need. It helps to look at their profile and who they are following before I accept a “friend”. I doubt there is anything that can be done from your end. We have to be aware of our surroundings and accountable for how we act amd react. This is such a great plàce.

    Hi Tag,

I’m still trying to figure out where to post a general question or make a statement so I hope this is okay.

Recently, as we grow, I have noted there are more and more new men who are joining and following women only. (Yes, I’m learning to check before I accept a friend request.) I haven’t checked but there may be women who are following men only. But my experience throws out red flags for me. I wanted to make a safety post. Maybe you can do that somewhere since I’m still lost? 😊

I have nothing against men at all! I have concerns about people in the wrong place with the wrong motives.

I would suggest typing in your search engine:

Farm and ranch real estate _____ county

Here are the counties around the Lubbock area:

    • Hale County (north)
    • Crosby County (east)
    • Lynn County (south)
    • Hockley County (west)
    • Lamb County (northwest)
    • Terry County (southwest)
    • Garza County (southeast)
    • Floyd County (northeast)

I’m not trying too get personal so don’t answer anything you don’t want to. Is there a specific reason Lubbock? …or did Lubbock just sound like a good place?

A lot of that area is cotton and wheat country, or it used to be. It’s a harsh area. I remember watching the wheat field across the street get beaten down by hail one night and the next morning he was scheduled to harvest. There’s almost always wind.

I’m not trying to scare you, I just don’t know what you do know about the area. I love the people from/in this area. They make up for so many shortcomings.

Im about 2 hours north of Lubbock. I lived in a small community about 30 minutes from Lubbock when I was a kid.

If I were looking for property, I would look between Levelland and Lubbock or I would look north towards Hale Center but that’s mostly because ofy familiarity. I don’t know how small of a population you are looking for. There are some communities that have several churches, a school, a post office and if you’re lucky they have a cafe. If you want larger, look for land near Abernathy, Nazareth, etc. I will promise you the trees are far amd few between. The land is flat… watch the dog run away for 5 days. The name Levelland should give you a clue. 😂. I promise, it’s nothing like Ohio. I have lived south of Toledo so I have a true comparison. I’m sorry I’m not more help.
