Thanks Mr. Rain & Silver Lining. I find the older I get the more I need things written down so they don’t slip by so I’m hoping this will help.

The showers we were supposed to get turned in to flash flooding downpours. Hope it didn’t wash all my seed away.

The color of that gas bottle makes it look like pure argon but I’m guessing it’s 25% CO2 / 75% Argon mix?

I’d either go frost free hydrant up 30 inches or so or in the ground in an access box. Just because it doesn’t USUALLY freeze where you live doesn’t mean it can’t. One good volcano eruption is all it takes to cool the earth off several degrees or more. With the crazies in charge of the world now volcanos may be the least likely problem we face that could cloud out the suns power.

After 15 years of dealing with heavy red clay here in VA in know a few things that work well. First does it drain water or does it run off like most clay bases? If it doesn’t drain then Daikon radishes will help a lot they break the clay up and drill down deep (20+ feet) making holes the water can drain through. I also like buckwheat because it grows quick and also helps break up the top foot or so. If you mix in some clover that will help build the nitrogen. Those are things that will grow and help the clay turn to soil. But the biggest help will be mixing in all the organic matter you can get your hands on. I have found several years old composted woodchips and any and all manure is a huge help.

If you really want good results go watch Gabe Brown’s videos on you tube. A mixture is always better than a single crop for repairing land or build good soil.

I would add a dose of stabil and use it. Make sure you get the kind of stabil for gas with ethanol. IIRC they call it Stabil marine 360 I’ve used 3 year old gas with it. Generally you put it in before storing gas but I’ve also used it to rejuvenate gas.

BTW Thought it germain to mention I’ve been wearing their oilskin hats for over 20 years. They work well and last a few years.

    I’ve bought 5-20lbs from OutsidePride.com. Don’t forget it’s more of a cool season crop.

If it were me I’d still get stabil for ethanol gas. Reason being there was a huge stink a year or so ago where stations were selling “non”ethanol gas that was just plain old regular old 10% ethanol gas. Yeah I may have trust issues! lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was nothing wrong with the old one other than my daughter wanted it and it was honestly to small for me. So she stole it and I got a new one. Win win. lol It was a large and I just could get it on but I used it for chores in bad weather for ten or so years and it still looks about new. Neither of mine have a hood, which I think you mentioned.

A medium or large would likely work but I’d stay away from small unless you’re extremely thin. They also have straps to strap the coat to your thighs if it’s really storming & windy.

Yeah I know I try and avoid china made where and when I can but sometimes you just gotta do it and in over ten years these coats haven’t let me down. I just got my second one last year. WARNING they run small especially in the shoulders. Then again I have stupid wide shoulders!
