Nothing like being prepared when the unexpected happens. We keep one of our Trauma kits in each vehicle and one in our backpacks at all times. We have boo boo kits but the Trauma kits are life saving. We had looked at several kits but seemed like most always lacked a few key items. It became so frustrating we designed and produced our own.

Its not hard to learn and you can choose from a wide variety of rootstock and interstems to aid in disease resistance and hardiness. Our cost last year on new stock was around 12.00 per tree for scion wood and grafting supplies. We use Queener Farms (https://www.queenerfarm.com/) for our scions. I think you can get a bundle of 20 scions for about 60.00 on selected varieties of the same kind. Individual varieties are from 6.00 to around 15.00 each depending on how rare they are. The most economical way is to find someone with established Apple trees who will give you a few scions off them for free. I’m sure many on this platform would donate a few cuttings if you paid the shipping. If you have any questions about grafting and rootstock, contact us we will be glad to help.

-3 degrees last night here in Kentucky. Currently sitting at 0 degrees. Rain last night until 11:30 pm then a flash freeze. Checked all our livestock early this morning and all seem fine. Hope everyone is doing ok.

My son and I do custom 3D printing on the side when our farm allows us the time. Blacksmithing and customized welding in the slow months. We sold Organic produce for a couple months this year as well. Supply problems and ever increasing inflation is changing the normal routine of certain farm operations all around us. Our Farm / Homestead is mostly self sufficent and is allowing us to maintain a somewhat normal operation so far. So thankful for that.
