I just heard about farmsteading.com from your latest video “Don’t Defend from your House // Homestead Defense” and joined immediately. Concerning that video: so much great advice there! (And I know it’s only scratching the surface – incorporating defense with permaculture could easily be a whole book on its own!)
Mostly, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to put these videos together. I know filming the thing must take a lot of time away from actually doing the thing.
So, just for those days (like we all have) when doubts creep in and you wonder “is it worth it?”, I just want to let you know that sharing your passion (😉) is making a difference and that you and your family’s hard work is much appreciated!

Wanted to double down on that. It’s sound advice that I too appreciate as well as the effort it takes on y’alls part.

I watch this as well. As a vet, thinking security comes naturally, but using the permiculture as a part just did not come to mind. Great advice. The drive to our land is straight (cut In a long time ago) but we are preparing to build a house there and I wanted the drive to go pass the house (which will be farther in the woods) and J back to the house, as this would cause them to be seen before they could see us. Thanks again for the ideas, even the drawbridge. Might be time for a moat.

Of course! The swamp behind our current place, feed by a natural spring, should be able to feed it. About 6-12 inches deep in water no matter how dry it gets. 🤩
