Hi all, we live in Western North Carolina and would really like to meet others that are also doing regenerative ag. Maybe we could get together monthly to educate each other and possibly trade and purchase livestock from each other. What are your thoughts?

I’m in Lunenburg VA just 30 or so miles north of the NC state line. This is a good topic and idea.

Hi BiggKid, we are in Burnsville, so about 5 hours away. I wonder if we could meet in the middle sometimes. Do you raise livestock?

I do have livestock but that’s a lot farther than I try to drive these days. I get bad headaches sitting in a vehicle for more than 30-45 minutes at a time. There was a guy I use to talk to down that way who specializes in year round grazing (stockpiling) if I can remember his name or where I knew him from I will let you know.

That would be wonderful! Thank you! We are having a heck of a time trying to find people who rotational grays their livestock here and raise them naturally.

Yeah this guy was / is a real pro at it. He raises near a hundred head IIRC and has been for a long time. He calls himself a grass farmer. You might try looking on Homesteading today I think that’s where I knew him from.

ETA: I don’t think that’s his forum name though.

Justin Rhodes (YouTube and abundance plus) lives in Fletcher and does regenerative grazing with cattle sheep and chickens. Jason Contreras (Sow the Land) also lives in that area, and had a newer (to him) property that he is rotational grazing cattle on.

Hi squash mania, thanks. I know Jason moved further from us. We don’t know Justin Rhodes and he isn’t overly close.

The Hoolar homestead, Ben and Meg Hollar are in Rutherfordton, as well. They run pigs and a family milk cow.
