I’m still wrapping my head around our land here but this is the walipini design I’ve been admiring. I want something somewhere between the snow house you shared and this one.

I don’t have one, but I have collected several links about them.
They are also called “pit gardens” so if you do searches that will turn up many more links about them.
Here is a link to the links about them I have collected over time.

This is the first site where I posted my collections of pins from pintrest they actually post them so you can see them all. I am impressed as well.

I have started to be impressed with the Chinese green houses, I was thinking a combo of a pit garden with a Chinese garden may be just the ticket…. for colder zones.

I have been thinking about using the water from my pond to cool it.

Tag, have you had a chance to go through those files I sent you? I know there was a walipini design in there somewhere. Also, I’m not sure how to do it, but I was thinking… do you think others might get some use out of that information? Maybe have a reference library where people could go to look at various information and print whatever they need? I’ve already had physical copies of all of it printed up. The files are just extra now. Might as well share the wealth of knowledge.

Some of them but not all. I will keep digging

Tag … Would you be interested in a totally different design than what I’ve seen suggested so far?
As usual, I designed something totally different for the day when I finally have my own land again.

I posted pics of one I started building a few years ago yesterday or the day before but now I can’t find them. Mine is 8×60 dug back in a hillside with the long side having southern exposure. I need to finish building the rear wall and get the rest of the earth up against it. Then build the south wall with old storm windows. Another labor intensive project but very few dollars. The frame and windows were all headed to the dump when I resourced them. Adding some old garden shots from the same time.

I loved that gentleman from greenhouse in the snow! He is very knowlegeable and the things he is able to grow in there made me excited. Funny to see this video posted again. We have a glass greenhouse that last summer we redid the block, when we move to our forever land we for sure will be following this gentlemans lead!
