Wrong Seeds

Not sure what’s going on with seed companies but I got horehound seeds but they are actually chamomile. This one is puzzling because I never grew it before, but it’s supposed to be California Mugwort however it doesn’t look like it! Anyone know what this actually is?

That looks like nasturtiums to me. Were the seeds about pea sized and wrinkly? Likely nasturtiums.

    Nasturtium. Edible leaves and flowers.

That looks like nasturtiums to me. If that’s what it is, at least the flowers are edible!

Thanks everyone. At least it’s not a total waste; I usually only grow food and medicine (nothing really for ornamental only).

What seed company? If it’s a legit seed company there are regs about the seed being the right seed as advertised, specific germination rates, weed seed percentage etc. If it’s a mom and pop, garage, under the radar thing, caviet emptor.

That’s good to know. I honestly don’t remember because I was so worried about their being a shortage and I only just started more of my own seeds last year. This year, I put a huge focus on perennials especially with everything going on so I wasn’t loyal to any one or two seed companies. I have a feeling I ordered those on Amazon though (so that’s what I get!) because California Mugwort isn’t a common thing to find in a seed catalog.

2 years in a row, I have gotten bad seeds when trying to buy Sugar Snap Peas. Both the Burpee seeds and the True Leaf Market seeds were a mix of many different kinds of peas. They were many different sizes, shapes, colors, and textures.

It’s very frustrating especially when you are planning to seed save yourself – it throws that whole planning off!
